Watermelon Sorbet

Let me see? Any cooling, chilled desserts I have shared before? Nope. Not as far as I know and not as far as I have checked through all the recipes I have already rolled out. What's with watermelon and this Watermelon Sorbet, or you can also call it Watermelon Granita? Whichever. As you wish to call it. I actually bought a big watermelon and after the usual, eating it as fresh, just like that after slicing, some slices were still available. So, the idea of making watermelon sorbet popped up. But how and which recipe? I admit I did refer to a couple of recipes and then, instead of replicating them as their originality, I added milk. Milk and watermelon? Yes. Got you worrying or you are not sure if you will make this watermelon and milk in one sorbet? You shouldn't. Nothing should hold you back. I made and those who tasted credited its taste. The fresh burst of watermelon and the creaminess of milk working and jiving in tandem. Super smooth, super luscious and one of the best sweet treat delight for a hot weather Watermelon Sorbet.

Vegetable Raita

The cooked or uncooked as a must have vegetable side dish? Both also can. Its really up to you. In my house, usually, I tend to do the cooked version (Plantain Crumble, Aloo Gobi & Indian-Style Mustard Greens). Of course, every now and then, making an entry on our dining table is a raw salad (Mango Cucumber Salad) or a tiny bit of cooking involved, the tempering part vegetable dish. Specifically this Vegetable Raita. A close cousin or related to the previous Cucumber Yogurt Salad. The tempering, as I have already mentioned and what sets this Indian yogurt vegetarian salad apart (Vegetarian Mutton Stir Fry, Tomato Spinach Soup, Dhal Rice & Drumstick Sambar). Still, nothing complicated. Never mostly for my recipes. Those ingredients listed in A, already diced (Carrot Poriyal) and sliced, thereafter tossed and mixed with the tempered in oil curry leaves and mustard seeds. Tadaa! Our Vegetable Raita is ready.

Nyonya Curry Laksa

Nyonya cuisine. One of those, one of it amongst the rest of the Malaysian cuisines. Remember? If you can still recall? I have already Nyonya dishes before (Assam Fish Curry, Nyonya Fish Sambal, Nyonya Steam Fish & Nyonya Assam Fish Curry)?  Of course I did. Today, lets get to know this Nyonya Curry Laksa. Bowl food. Bowl food meaning noodles (Chow Mein & Mee Siam). generously soaking in a thick curry (Lamb Curry Noodles, Laksam Kelantan & Curry Mee). Basically the broth or soupy (Bee Hoon Soup, Lamb Pho & Prawn Noodle Soup) version compared to noodles stir fried. Curry obviously is the crucial fact. Making the flavorful, thick, creamy broth. All about with our Malaysian ingredients (Malaysian Sour Spicy Fish Soup Noodles, Mee Rebus & Penang Mee Yoke). Curry broth and swimming long beans, and taufu, ladled generously over noodles and soft boiled egg.

Dhal Rice

It must rice for us daily. A must a fact, but we don't really have to stick to plain rice daily (Nasi Lemak). We can pretty much heighten or elevate rice to a different level or let's say rice in a different food style (Rice Vadai). Yes, of course (Rice Congee With Condiments) and of course to fried rice as well (Tom Yam Prawn Fried Rice & Malaysian Fried Rice). What's with rice and dhal today? Nope. Not those mushy-mushy kinda (Creamy Coconut Lentil Curry & Bitter Gourd Sambar). This Dhal Rice is a class of its own. Grainy and still intact rice and dhal in one, and scented by coriander leaves and garnished with fried shallots. Moreover, cooked in the rice cooker. Wholesome and I reckon triggering your hunger Dhal Rice which can be paired alongside Egg Vindaloo, Eggplant Tikka Masala, Tapioca Stir Fry, Spinach Tofu Stir FryCucumber Yogurt Salad).

Ayam Goreng Berempah ( Spicy Fried Chicken)

Ayam Goreng Berempah. Wow! Walla! Bang! My all time favorite. I just so love ayam goreng berempah. One of those I can't resist at Malay Nasi Campur/Mix Rice Stalls or Nasi Kukus stalls (Ayam Masak Merah). Ayam goreng berempah lemme tell you is one of the best food regards of us. Our Malaysian Malay style spicy fried chicken (Spicy Fried WingsBaked Cornflakes Chicken & Grilled Chicken Wing) and trust me, for years I have been debating within myself on how can I make ayam goreng berempah. A couple of attempts which definitely didn't get me for getting it right until I was so glad when my Malay colleague spilled it out. She spilling the secret to ayam goreng berempah.  The recipe she in fact picked up from her neighbor. Oh boy! So glad I was until I wouldn't stop thanking her over and over again. So, how can we make this ayam goreng berempah? Of course for celebration chicken (Curry Chicken Noodles, Chicken Vegetable Soup, Sweet Chilli Chicken & Thai Green Chicken Curry).  How? Chicken simmered and half cooked in our Malaysian herbs and later, crispy crunchy fried. Crispiness on the outside and soft meat inside (Chicken Varuval, Easy Chicken Kebab & Thai Yellow Chicken Curry).

Thai Chicken Green Curry

Green again? Indeed. Thai green again (Thai Green Fish Curry). What else is with Thai and us? Nope. We are not cousins. We can't be? We are Indians and we the Indians who are fond of Thai dishes (Spicy Thai Noodles, Tom Yum Prawn Fried Rice, Thai Fish Noodle Soup & Thai Yellow Chicken Curry). Thai cuisine and their akin magical mystical bold tastes (Seafood Tom Yam Soup, Tomyam Chicken)? Yum, wouldn't you agree? Of course. A big yes from me. The Thai recipe awaiting you today? As you have already noted Thai Chicken Green Curry (Easy Chicken Kebab). Aw-awesomeness. Tender succulent chicken and long beans in a curry made from coconut milk, fish sauce and home style green curry paste, of course, how can Thai Chicken Green Curry not be perfected by the scent of kaffir lime leaves.

Vegetarian Mutton Stir Fry

The same vegetarian mutton. The same as the previous (Vegetarian Mutton Rendang, Vegetarian Mutton Curry, Vegetarian Mutton Peratal & Vegetarian Mutton Varuval). Yep. The mushroom stalks (Mushroom Veggie Burger) made mutton pieces. The pretty much safest compared to mock chicken, mock mutton and those all about coloring and taste enhanced artificial vegetarian mocks. Actually, to tell you the truth, my husband is still not in flavour of even these vegetarian mutton, but I am okay. He actually prefers the real vegetarian food deal (Bitter Gourd Sambar, Eggplant Tikka Masala, Vegetarian Sandwich & Cucumber Yogurt Salad). What should I say? I guess to each its own. But potentially, there's no point I cook vegetarian mutton if he is not keen? Unless, every now and then I cook for myself. Right. Lets get to the recipe now (Baked Bread Rolls & Vegetarian Winter Melon Soup). Spices and all things nice, vegetarian mutton mixed with turmeric powder (Turmeric Tomato Soup) and corn flour and fried, followed by quickly stir frying (Spinach Tofu Stir Fry) together.

Lamb Rogan Josh

I guess when you don't know what else to do with lamb or mutton, you start searching (Lamb Kofta Curry & Mutton Varuval). Search for what? Search for recipes. Where do we start searching? Go ahead. Aplenty recipes will pop up when you Google and these days, trust me, there's so many people who share recipes online. Did I copy the recipes? Nope. I read through and I coined this recipe of mine. Yes. Otherwise, why is my recipe different and for Lamb Rogan Josh which is actually lamb curry, what can really be different? We definitely need the usual ingredients? Oh, before I brush it aside, Rogan Gosh by the way is a Persian or Kashmiri style of curry. Persians and people from Kashmir origin I bet love their yogurt? So do I (Cucumber Yogurt Salad & Mor Rasam). In fact I love this yogurt ingredient concept. Always, most of the time, a tub of yogurt sitting in my fridge. What else should I say? Temptation to the highest degree. Lamb Rogan Josh is like a massive salivating temptation.

Vegetarian Chinese Winter Melon Soup

Boring right? If its daily Indian food? Tell me about it. I however don't have a choice. My love the love of my life, my other half-half need his daily fix of Indian food (Tomato Spinach Soup). The escape for me from Indian food of course is when he is away (Rice Congee With Condiments). I think that is a fair marriage deal? I think so. Now, lets get down to making this soup and whoever said we can't make vegetarian Chinese dishes (Yam Basket Vegetarian, Vegetarian Fried Bee Hoon & Vegetarian Chow Mein). Am I a vegetarian? Nope. Maybe, every now and then, as and when, I do prefer vegetarianism (Mushroom Veggie Burger) and soups by itself, by far is simplicity. I like it. Back from work, look into the fridge, remember I told you, my fridge is always stocked up, and then those ingredients quickly prepared for going into a pot for simmering. Slow simmering of course for the flavours to rise up (Chinese Vegetarian Noodle Soup). But you need a good stock. Keep some stocked up as well. Without a good stock, soups may not be all that exciting to our palates.Vegetarian Chinese Winter Melon Soup? Winter melon, woflberries, dried black fungus, vegetable stock and parsley leaves garnished.

Sambal Udang Petai

Another marriage matched in heaven our Malaysian Petai (Sambal Sotong Petai), aka Stink Beans dish. Its perfection to our palates when we forcefully or without forcing each other to be together in a sambal spiciness (Sambal Kentang Ikan Asin). Petai and Udang/Prawns (Sambal Petai Udang Kering)? Even Petai and Bilis/Anchovies (Sambal Tumis Ikan Bilis Petai & Sambal Bilis Petai)? Where are you petai lovers? Are you not agreeing with me? I bet you love any of these combination of petai and of course, how can we cook petai, as I have already told you without chillies (Sambal Udang/Prawn)? Henceforth, to make this Sambal Udang Petai, essentially, in fact you must buy the freshest prawns (Prawn Noodle Soup, Devilled Prawns & Bitter Gourd Prawn Curry). Otherwise, you are wasting your time and your money. Make sure you checklist the prawns first (Chinese Prawn FrittersPrawn Mango Curry & Sichuan Chilli Prawns) whilst picking up the petai. When petai is a concern for me, I usually buy those already peeled and sealed in the plastic for time saving and instead of adding the pieces just like that, I slice. Why do I slice the petai? Because of the probability of wriggly worms playing sparks inside. Thereafter? Go ahead. Replicate or tweet this recipe of mine.

Thai Yellow Chicken Curry

Remember? Remember I told you I ventured on my own to Bangkok (Bangkok Through My Canon & Chonburi)? Apart from sightseeing, I also picked up some cooking tips and skills. Not taught by the Thais, but from my food venturing. As it is, I can consider myself as my own game changer to Thai cooking (Thai Fish Noodle Soup, Tom Yam Fried Mee Hoon & Thai Mee Hoon Salad)? Therefore, I pretty much got exploring further. Of course, I do from time to time pick up other vital cooking tips from TV programs and if I come across Thai recipes, I won't miss out on screening through. The rest of course is history. Not a major changing the world history, but the already made my cooking history. From my kitchen to my dining table and then to all of you (Spicy Thai Noodles, Thai Green Fish Curry & Tom Yum Prawn Fried Rice). Chicken of course is the central ingredient, but more to that is the yellow curry paste. The power packing made from the must have or must add Thai ingredients (Tom Yam Chicken). Then again, these ingredients are actually a common sight in our Malaysian ground. We Malaysians by far use the same ingredients for our Malaysian cooking too (Curry Chicken Noodles, Sweet Chilli Chicken & Easy Chicken Kebab). Thai Yellow Chicken Curry. Bang! Instantly will wake up your palates for its bags of tastes. Big huge bags mind you.

Saffron Poached Pears

Such beauties, don't you think so? These Saffron Poached Pears? I believe so. In fact, I am impressed with myself and the outcome to this style to poaching pears. Can you still recall my previous Poached Pears In Citrus Syrup? Right. Idea toying spilling over thereafter and instead of like many of the rest, many other foodies who swear by red wine poached pears. Saffron obviously is the key tuner. Yes. You need the saffron strands which can be on a pricey side and can be purchase from the Indian shops. Not all shops sell saffron strands, so, perhaps you need to? Go and look for those stores. A box of saffron will cost like? Maybe RM15 - RM20. I am guessing. I am not really sure. My saffron strands on the other hand, me paying RM10.00 and coming home with me from Bangkok (Bangkok Through My Canon) Alongside saffron and the rest of the ingredients listed below, I also included tiny sticks of cinnamon and the outcome? These loveable and melting in your mouth sweet treat (Grapefruit Coconut Jelly, Coconut Panna Cotta, Cream Puffs & Baked Rice Pudding).

Tomato Spinach Soup

Tomatoes. I need them. I sincerely must have them for my cooking ((Lamb Kofta Curry). My curries mostly are perfected with the sour tinge from tomatoes (Thai Green Fish Curry & Bitter Gourd Prawn Curry) and pretty much for other dishes as well (Tomato RiceAyam Masak Merah). Tomatoes into soups. Of course. Why? You should (Chicken Vegetable Soup & Mor Rasam). Obviously so, I don't have say anything further about this Tomato Spinach Soup. Oh, yes-yes, I am all in for spinach too (Spinach Tofu Stir Fry). What's with this soup? A vegetarian version and my style as you know, for those of you who know me, I don't search, seek and search high and low for ingredients. I am pretty much the convenient cook. The cook who look within the hypermarket I am staying close by. Even for this Tomato Spinach Soup. The health is wealth soup. Simplicity in return speaking for itself (Turmeric Tomato Soup).

Easy Mutton Curry

Easy? Yes easy. Easy mutton curry and mutton curry by this Indian lady must be the Indian version right? Potentially. Of course there are other various types of mutton curries (Mutton Pepper Masala, Mutton Dalca, Mutton Kurma & Mutton Parathal) from other parts of the world or mutton curry by other races. For me personally, my mutton curry generally, as I have already told, must be the Indian me. Mutton or lamb (Lamb Burgers, Lamb Pho & Malaysian Lamb Stew) should then perhaps can be the next question? It cuts both ways for us. Mutton or lamb (Malaysian Lamb Curry Noodles & Lamb Kofta Curry), both goes. But if I am to pick one, it has to be mutton. Mutton which is a tough meat. Mutton from our Malaysian ground is tough. So? Unless you are absolutely sure the mutton you have bought can be cooked till tender without a pressure cooker, (Mutton Varuval, Pepper Mutton Curry & Masala Mutton Curry) you should go ahead. I however can't say the same unless maybe if its the minced ready made version (Mutton Keema). Today's mutton curry? As I have already said, easy me, easy you, easy everyone. Store bought curry powder and those ingredients we have it at home. Easy Mutton Curry. Nope. Nothing is compromised. It is still those spicy bold flavours mutton curry.

Eggs Benedict - My Malaysian Way

Kids these days? I really don't know what to say. Even their parents I think can't comprehend either why their kids fuss about food (Vegetarian Chow Mein & Lamb Kofta Curry). You tell me? I am actually lost for answers. Their parents on the other hand are good in laying out the terms and conditions on what their kids eat or not, but if you ask why they don't eat certain things? Parents? Those parents? They can't relate. Of course, they must defend thier kids? Their adorable darlings who, some of the time trust me, can bring the roof down when they are asked to try a new dish (Salted Egg Chicken). Unbelievable. But when fast food is a concern, oh-my-my. Fried chicken and burgers (Easy Chicken Kebab, Grilled Chicken Wings & Lamb Burger)? Do I have to potentially utter any single word? What about eggs? Am I wrong if I say most kids love eggs (Egg Fish Roll, Egg Rasam & Tea Eggs)? Correct me if I am wrong. A simple egg fried rice (Anchovies Long Beans Fried Rice)? I think should be okay? Then again, its also subjective to how egg is presented to them (Egg Gado Gado, Egg Curry Masala, Bean Sprouts Omelette & Tofu Scrambled Eggs)? Having said that, I think egg is still, as far as I know, a safe bet (Fried Egg With Oyster Sauce & Egg Potato Curry). How about this Eggs Benedict? Right. Maybe you should omit the chillies? Other than that, I believe Eggs Benedicts will be loved by our kids and most of us. Of course, this is the tweeted version and must be a Malaysian version for me right?
