Rome, Italy: Discovering the Heart of Italy

Thinking back on my travels, there's something truly soul-stirring about those journeys. Traveling has a way of deeply touching your Zen soul, leaving an imprint on every part of your being, including your breath to your body, and mind. Even years later, those moments remain etched in memory.

My first overseas trip took me to Italy, a destination cherished by people from all corners of the globe. The excitement of the journey kept me awake on the night flight. Arriving at Rome airport, a sense of anticipation filled me. After a quick refresh in the washroom, our guide led us to the coach to begin our sightseeing adventure, starting with Vatican City.

Zen Style Chronicles: The Serene Aura of Home Attire

In today's Zen Style spotlight, let's explore the serene world of home attire. Let's start with a simple question: What's your go-to outfit for lounging at home? This seemingly straightforward inquiry often invites introspection. Do you immediately have an answer, or do you pause to reflect?

As for me, comfort reigns supreme: I opt for shorts and a t-shirt, a choice deeply rooted in familiarity and ease. However, memories of my upbringing alongside my late mother remind me that wearing shorts was once frowned upon in our cultural context. Nevertheless, as I've journeyed through life, I've embraced this relaxed attire, a preference that persists even at the age of 59.

Weighty Issues: Challenges in Healthcare Wellness

Two months ago, my husband was hospitalized for dengue fever. During his week-long stay at the medical center, I couldn't help but notice something concerning among the staff - quite a number were overweight or obese. This raised a red flag as even some doctors displayed protruding stomachs and sluggish movements. It's ironic that while doctors advise patients on diet and exercise, they themselves struggle with obesity.

No Cook Carrot Yogurt Salad: Wellness Delight

Amidst the rapid pace of modern life, there's a notable focus on wellness. However, in the midst of the hectic rat race, many have lost sight of genuine wellness. In contrast to the past, where wellness (Moringa Stir Fry) was reflected in people's attitudes, behaviors, characters, and health, today's society often values material wealth and grandeur, relegating wellness to a secondary concern.

Factors such as stress, the soaring cost of living, and the pressure to outdo others have contributed to the neglect of wellness. Additionally, the prevalence of dining out due to time constraints, parents working long hours, children glued to screens, and the relentless pursuit of academic and career excellence have further distanced us from simple, wholesome living (Turmeric Wrapped Fish).

Nava's Zen Unveiled: Beyond Yoga Asanas

As the founder of Nava's Zen (Nature's Melody) and your in-house yoga coach, let me share a bit of my journey with you. For me, yoga isn't just about striking poses or sweating it out on the mat - it's a profound practice that touches every aspect of our being (Menopause & Yoga Discovery).

I've seen many people miss the true essence of yoga, reducing it to nothing more than physical exercise. But let me tell you, it's so much more than that. It's about finding balance in every breath, every movement, every thought, and every emotion.

So, if you're expecting a simple workout routine, you might be in for a surprise. Because yoga, my friend, is a journey - a journey that takes you deep within yourself, where you discover strength, flexibility, and resilience you never knew you had (The Power Of Yoga).

Women's Online Bullying: Exposing the Hidden Faces of Harassment

Yesterday, I shed light on the pervasive issue of Online Sexual Harassment, predominantly carried out by men. However, when the focus shifts to women, a different narrative emerges - they too can be the instigators of online bullying. Surprisingly, these women, some occupying esteemed positions in educated and professional fields, unleash a torrent of vile and disparaging comments. Upon receiving such hurtful remarks, I sometimes take a glimpse at their profiles, where they proudly tout their education and careers, some even associated with prestigious organizations.

Sexual Harassment Online: Stay Vigilant

Despite ongoing discussions about sexual harassment online, the issue persists across all age groups, including myself in my golden years. The perception of being seen in yoga outfits on social media platforms has led to unwelcome assumptions and advances, prompting me to remove my phone number from my accounts. Yet, it's impossible to avoid sharing my phone number in certain instances, where it's necessary. However, this hasn't stopped some individuals from resorting to messaging and calling me from social media platform connections. Today, let's explore the behavior of men in particular. In the next sharing, I will tell you about the women. Not as in sexuality, but as online bullies.

Vegetarian Delight: Indulge in Coconut Creamed Spinach

There's a common saying that inner beauty outweighs outer beauty. Yet, when faced with hole-ridden spinach, doubts arise (Spinach Lentil). Allow me to clarify - these holes signify freedom from pesticides, a testament to natural produce. Despite this reassurance, some remain hesitant, while others embrace it (Brazilian Spinach Stir Fry).

The irony of comparing inner and outer beauty becomes apparent. Interestingly, pesticide-free produce not only boasts rich nutrients (Malay Style Vegetarian Coconut Milk Spinach)but also offers a delightful taste. Next time you shop for leafy greens, consider whether you prefer flawless, glossy ones or those with imperfections, signaling authenticity (Spinach Cottage Cheese & Spinach Turmeric). Now, shall we delve into yoga mindfulness (Quieting The Mind).

KKSV Restaurant: Malaysian Coffeeshop Eating Culture

Formerly recognized as Restoran Poh Yap, this establishment underwent refurbishment a few months ago and now goes by the name KKSV Restaurant. The makeover includes an expanded, air-conditioned dining area. While some familiar stalls, like the Pork Noodles, remain, new additions have also been introduced, creating an exciting blend of the traditional and the novel (Exploring A Kopitiam).

Bay Leaves: Healing Manifestation Therapy

For the many individuals reaching out to us about yoga fitness, nearly 70% are seeking manifestation healing therapy. Manifestation involves bringing desires or intentions into reality through thought, belief, and action. Despite our explanation that we offer manifestation healing therapy through coaching and counseling, many are primarily interested in someone healing them, seeking manifestation for various life challenges. The list is extensive, ranging from, mainly health problems, apart from financial constraints and aspirations for success, position, and power.

Nava's Zen: A Harmonious Haven for Nature's Melody

Birds naturally gravitate toward Nava's Zen, already a mini eco-world (Eco Living) in a residential area where squirrels, butterflies, and even stray cats coexist with nature, adding to its natural charm. The charm lies in the beauty of the universe, consisting of nature, animals, and of course, humans.

The presence of birds and their chirping is such an amazing sound. Listening to the crisp chirping breaks down mental barriers and brings a soft rush of calmness to the mind, acting as natural therapy (Quieting The Mind). The presence of bird nests in your compound indicates that your environment is in harmony with nature, portraying a healthy and inviting ecosystem. This is considered a positive omen, symbolizing the renewal of life and affirming that your surroundings provide a safe and suitable environment for nesting and raising offspring.

Plant-Based Salads: Sustainability from Pantry to Plate

In my early days of blogging about recipes, I often found myself buying lots of new ingredients, usually just for one recipe. This was especially true when I was baking or trying out recipes from others. But over time, I realized that I had a habit of letting these ingredients pile up in my pantry and fridge, only to discover them expired later on.

As the years went by, I learned the importance of starting my cooking journey with what I already have at home. Imported ingredients can be pricey, so it's essential to make the most of them, especially when it comes to fruits and vegetables. That's why my first step in the kitchen is always to check my fridge and pantry and use up any leftover ingredients, staying true to my commitment to sustainable eating.

Mushroom Magic: Elevating the Classic with this Flavorful Mushroom Omelette

There's a magical allure to eggs (Egg Sambal) that makes them an everlasting favorite. Whether fried, boiled, or enhancing instant noodles, eggs add a touch of pride to our meals (Drumstick Egg Masala Curry). In my repertoire of egg recipes (Thai Green Egg Curry), I've elevated the classic omelette by incorporating canned mushrooms, a pantry staple for impromptu cooking. While the mushrooms come from our provisions, the garden-fresh spring onions, easily cultivated, add a delightful homegrown touch.

Let's embark on making this Mushroom Omelette:

Eco Living: Small Changes, Big Impact in Nava's Zen Philosophy

Ms. Nava, the visionary founder of Nava's Zen, has been a vocal advocate for sustainable living, green practices (Eco Friendly Delights On Banana Leaves), and the urgent need to save our planet. While urban gardening remains a powerful tool in the fight against climate change (Human Impact On Climate), there are numerous other avenues for individuals to make a positive impact. It's time for everyone to play their part in preserving our environment, and one compelling option is adopting an eco-friendly lifestyle. Eco living encompasses a broad spectrum of choices, and a simple yet effective change is opting for walking over driving whenever feasible. Not only does walking contribute to savings on petrol, but it also saves time spent searching for parking spaces and promotes personal fitness. Of course, practicality should guide this decision, taking into account the achievable distance and weather conditions.

Toyo Bowl Delights: Supporting Local Taste

In every collaboration at Nava's Zen, I maintain the tradition of treating my collaborator to a meal - a small token of gratitude for their time and contributions to my growth. I usually opt for online ordering, focusing on healthy food. Despite established choices in the healthy food industry, my recent preference was deliberately a smaller-scale restaurant. This decision aligns with my commitment to supporting small businesses, recognizing the impact of mutual support in our growth journeys.

Using Grab, I ordered from Toyo Bowl (Jalan Kenari, Puchong Jaya), selecting Lemongrass Lime Chicken (RM24.90) and Veg Portobello Bowl (RM18.90).

The Power of Yoga for Restful Sleep: Patience and Practice

What happens when the mind refuses to shut down? Sleep disorders, insomnia - the inability to sleep, and the challenges in quieting the mind lead to a world of struggles with sleep (Modern Struggle: Quieting The Mind). The severity of this issue, affecting individuals from the young to the elderly, including myself occasionally, cannot be understated. Whenever we receive yoga inquiries, the recurring concern is difficulty sleeping, prompting questions about yoga's efficacy in addressing this issue.

It's essential to recognize that yoga offers a comprehensive natural therapy for sleep. However, the challenge lies in some clients expecting immediate miracles or magic from yoga. Consistency is key, and results typically manifest after practicing yoga for at least 2-6 months. Natural therapies, by their nature, require time for noticeable effects. The expectation of instant results is a common hindrance to experiencing the full benefits of yoga (Yoga Discovery).
