Turmeric Black Cumin Rice - A Health is Wealth Dish

There's a common misconception that rice should be avoided if you're trying to lose weight. However, that couldn't be further from the truth! With the right approach, you can still enjoy a small portion of rice and maintain a balanced diet (Curry Leaf Coconut Oil Rice). Today, I bring you a delicious and wholesome rice dish that combines the goodness of turmeric and black cumin. This recipe not only satisfies your taste buds (Malay Style Turmeric Rice) but also contributes to your overall well-being (Blue Pea Rice). Let's dive into the delightful world of Turmeric Black Cumin Rice!

3 green chillies, cut into two and slit in between

4 shallots, sliced

1 and ½ tsp turmeric powder

2 tbsp oil

1 and ½ tsp black cumin

Salt to taste

2 cups washed Basmati Pusa Rice

3 cups water

Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the shallots until they turn golden and crispy. Once done, remove them from the oil and set them aside for later use.

In the same oil, add the green chillies and black cumin. Sauté them for a minute until their aroma fills the air.

Now, add the washed Basmati Pusa Rice to the pan, along with the turmeric powder and salt. Stir gently to combine all the ingredients evenly.

Transfer the rice mixture into a rice cooker, and pour in the water. Stir one last time to ensure the spices are evenly distributed.

Let the rice cooker do its magic and cook the Turmeric Black Cumin Rice to perfection.

Once the rice is cooked and ready to serve, add the fried shallots on top.

The crispiness of the shallots adds a delightful texture and flavor to the dish.

Losing weight is not about depriving yourself of the foods you love. It's about making practical and mindful choices while still enjoying the flavors you cherish. This Turmeric Black Cumin Rice not only offers a satisfying meal but also brings together the goodness of spices for your well-being. So, go ahead and treat yourself to a small portion of this healthful rice dish for lunch or dinner. Remember, wellness comes from nourishing your body with the right ingredients. Bon appétit!
