Sate Kambing
Sate Kambing or Lamb Satay with a Mediterranean and Indian twist. Why Mediterranean and Indian twist? Because I opted for spices instead of Indonesian or Malaysian herbs. But still, I vouch its still Indonesian due to lamb meat atop lemongrass sticks (Easy Chicken Kebab) instead of skewers or sticks. Interesting right? I know. And why lamb for the matter in fact? Well, chicken and beef are a no show as the food show for my other half-half. Thus, logically, it had to be lamb which of course is my love as well (Lamb Massaman Curry, Lamb Spaghetti, Lamb Kofta Curry, Lamb Burgers & Malaysian Lamb Curry Noodles). Making Sate Kambing I think is pretty much not a brain cracker and if you opt for store bought spices, all the better easier. Mix minced lamb alongside the spices and stick on lemongrass sticks prior to grilling on portable grill or bbq pit, or can go into the oven as well. After grilling, tucked into these juicy succulent sate kambing, by right should be with kuah kacang/peanut satay sauce which I didn't make. Instead, thrown in again with an Indian twist, we had Sate Kambing alongside salad (Vegetable Raita). Sounds weird? Of course not. After all, there is no right or wrong formula for your food likings (Watermelon Salad).

Indonesian Grilled Fish
Indonesian Grilled Fish or Ikan Bakar Indonesia. Sounds mouthwatering right? I know. Especially if you are spicy food lover like me and if you love all those traditional Indonesian tastes, including sourness from lime juice and saltiness from tauchu/fermented soy beans and terasi/belacan. Remember, can you still recall (Sambal Goreng Teri, Sambal Terasi & Ikan Belado? Plus, how can forget the rest of our Malaysian dishes? Cooked alongside almost similar ingredients and akin a spicy pop in our mouth (Malaysian Fish Sambal, Ikan Masak Kicap & Stingray Spicy Sauce). Also, maybe I should mention other fish recipes from our Asian continent which showcases spiciness, sourness and saltiness (Thai Crispy Fish, Hong Kong Steamed Fish, Cambodian Fish Soup & Vietnamese Fish Soup) too. Generally, as far as I know and as far as I have seen on cooking programs, quite a fair bit of ingredients are marinated or mixed alongside Indonesian Grilled Fish prior to grilling. But for my version, I kept it simple for grilling (Grilled Salmon), yet, when grilled fish is dipped into the accompanied Indonesian style sambal I made, trust me, nothing is compromised because its still a major revelation of the much loved boldness (Spicy Grilled Fish, Grilled Fish In Banana Leaf & Grilled Fish Sambal Stuffed).

Mushroom Veggie Burger
Possible or impossible? Possible. What is possible? Vegetarian Burger and Mushroom Veggie Burger. I have already made. Henceforth, I can affirm. We can of course make vegetarian burger (Vegetarian Fried Mee Hoon, Drumstick Sambar, Mee Rebus Vegetarian, Spinach Tofu Stir Fry & Creamy Coconut Lentil Curry). Various types, various styles, your style and my style? I think veggie burger out of mushroom is (Mushroom Rolls)? Not those expensive shrooms. Not the portobello. Nope. You can actually make mushroom burger from canned button mushrooms. Yes, you can. I did it for this Mushroom Veggie Burger, why can't or shouldn't you (Vegetarian Sandwich)? Chop the shrooms, chop to the finest point or pulse in the blend before making and then grilling the mushroom patties. After which into grilled burger buns (Lamb Burgers) and assembled alongside pickled onion and, as much as much, as many veggies (Gado Gado, Chinese Vegetarian Noodle Soup & Cucumber Yogurt Salad) and sauces as well. Anything else you are doubting?

Easy Chicken Kebab
Literally. Many much more and aplenty dishes can be created with chicken? Of course. Stop doubting me neither you should doubt yourself. Its a fact. Any which chicken part for any which chicken dish you want (Indian Chicken Curry, Chinese Black Vinegar Chicken, Curry Chicken Noodles & Chicken Wanton Soup). You name it, we can by far have it. However, it all depends on you. Whether you are dependent on the same dishes over and over again, or you are willing to give a go to something new or different (Salted Egg Chicken, Grilled Chicken Wings, Butter Chicken, Chicken Vegetable Soup & Sweet Chilli Chicken)? Which cooking direction I am taking you to right now? Chicken, easy and grilling. Easy, as you know is me. Even as a person I am easy going and when its my cooking, do I have to speak any further (Baked Cornflakes Chicken, Braised Chicken Feet, Curried Roast Chicken, Spicy Fried Wings & Chicken Varuval). Grilling? Not open grilling, rather in the over the stove portable grill. Moreover, I don't think you will struggle in getting the ingredients. If you can't get lemongrass, perhaps return back to the conventional metal skewers or those wood skewers will do. And finally, what should I say? Pair this Easy Chicken Kebab alongside, I have given you the option to Spicy Mashed Potatoes. Otherwise, its really up to you.

Indian-Spiced Salmon
What's my story to this Indian-Spiced Salmon today? Of course, obviously, in my house, it has to be Indian for my Indian other half-half. Indian style cooking basically no matter what. Remember, I have already shared this matter to Indian and his food love (Rice Congee With Condiments)? Precisely. And the other I must also share with you is fish love being his food love (Spicy Grilled Fish, Chilli Lime Fish & Kerala Fish Fry). Fish and fish and fish indeed I think forever, for the longest time, now and forever (Fish Sambar, Grilled Fish Sambal, Grilled Fish In Banana Leaf, Malaysian Indian Fish Curry, Assam Fish Curry & Chili Soy Fish). Usually, most of the time, I stick to our local catch which is very much cheaper. But I guess, every now and then, we can afford the rather pricey salmon? Sure. Why not? If its a once a while affair, I too won't hesitate. The fresh piece of salmon getting to my attention in the hypermarket, I literally couldn't ignore. Back home with salmon and then, as usual? Buying I think is easier compared to deciding what style to cooking? Always. Instead of the same style like the previous (Grilled Salmon), I decided to uplift salmon alongside curry leaves and plain chilli powder. Yep. Another simplicity again and only two of these much sorted after and much, akin a must for our Indian dishes (Egg Curry Masala, Curried Roast Chicken & Indian-Style Mustard Greens). Moreover, I thought grilling will be a better option compared to frying (Grilled Fish Sandwich). Not that I am against frying, but when you have already invested in a portable over the stove grill, you might as well? Of course. Salmon marinated alongside plain chilli powder, curry leaves and salt, up next after at least 4 hours, grilling. Crispy on the outside, beautiful curry leaves waffling and tenderness to its core inside salmon. Oh, before I forget, you can consider pairing Indian-Spiced Salmon alongside Ghee Rice & Cucumber Yogurt Salad.

Vegetarian Sandwich
Anything is possible. In fact, even for our food lingo. All you gotto do is think. Think of the possibilities of a different kinda food item. In my house, I can't say anything goes. Nope, anything does not go because there are limitations for my other half-half, whereas I am basically any type of food survivor. I am fine as long as food goes down my tummy for hunger throne. But like I have already said, my man? I need to pay attention and concern definitely. Thank god, thanks to his palates which by far does not have an issue to bread (Grilled Fish Sandwich, Lamb Burgers). Blessings, maybe? I believe so (Bread Sardine Roll). So, when on this day, I was literally blanked out in my mind what should be the vegetarian food for his once a vegetarian day, I comfortably put up this Vegetarian Sandwich (Aloo Gobi, Cumin Rice, Mee Rebus Vegetarian, Cauliflower Curry, Chinese Vegetarian Noodle Soup, Mor Kuzhambu & Kurkuri Bhindi). Nothing mind boggling, its basically cheese, veggies and onion, topped with chilli sauce and tomato sauce and slow grilled in a portable grill. Try baking if you are fancy frilly for stove-top grilling.

Grilled Fish Sandwich
Fish and us? God (Vietnamese Fish Soup, Shark Curry, Thai Green Fish Curry, Kerala Fish Fry, Hong Kong Style Steamed Fish & Tuna Cutlets). I say nothing further. Fish and fish and fish. Today however, its a different fish story. Grilled tucked into bread slices (Lamb Burger). Grilled Fish Sandwich basically. So how? Grilled dory, vegetables and sauces and all of these packed in bread.

Lamb Burgers
So, we must agree it can't be curries, rice and side dishes (Shark Curry, Tapioca Stir Fry & Apple Cucumber Salad), or even soups or noodles daily (Vietnamese Fish Soup & Chinese Vegetarian Noodle Soup)? I think we did speak about this matter before, if I am not mistaken? Lamb Burger. What a drastic change in my house. Seldom we love to bite into burgers, not me though, but my other half-half is food fine even daily with anything decked into any kinda bread stuffs. He in fact, unlike me, is a bread worshiper. These lamb burgers definitely were his dinner food pride. All made from a stretch, except of course, oh-please, I can't be bothered with making burger buns. Instead, wholemeal burger buns I paid for at the bakery, filled with seasoned by dried herbs grilled lamb patties (Lamb Stew & Minced Lamb Potato Fried Rice), lotsa raw veggies and those available at home sauces atop. Feel free. Veggies and sauces as per availability in your house or whichever you prefer.

Gado Gado
Gado Gado! The platter dish. The dish as finger food, or appetizer or starter (Rice Vadai, Chinese Prawn Fritters, Grilled Chicken Wings, Fried Shrimp Wantons & Bonda). Actually Gado Gado can even be your main course. Perhaps? If you don't want a heavy meal or a complete Gado Gado like this one, trust me, can fill you up as well. What can expect in Gado Gado? Tofu, potatoes, tempeh/fermented soy and fresh raw vegetables. My this, Nava K's version is a vegetarian and grilled version instead of frying the items. Of course, you can, go ahead, include fried seafood, poultry, meat or whatever whichever.

Grilled Chicken Wings
Are we ready ladies and gentlemen for another grilling cooking technic? I bet you have no qualms right? Grilling by far is definitely and sincerely healthier compared to frying. Grilling too can be done over portable stove top grilling pan. Remember I have already told you before (Grilled Salmon, Grilled Fish Stuffed With Sambal, Grilled Fish In Banana Leaf & Otak Otak/Grilled Fish Paste)? But today, its the grilling in the oven. Fortunately or unfortunately. If you don't own an oven, go ahead and fry. Chicken Wings (Cashew Masala Chicken) on the other hand has already been labelled as unhealthiness, yet if you are asking me, won't you agree that anything every now and then or once a while is fine? In fact, chicken wings are my fav. Marinated with honey (Honey Chilli Chicken) and chilli powder, these are the charred on the outside, and succulent and juicy on the inside Grilled Chicken Wings.

Grilled Salmon
If you are beginner to salmon, in other words, you have not much explored salmon or have not cooked before, let me show the way. The cooking way of course (Malaysian Indian Fish Curry, Chilli Soy Fish, Fried Kembung Assam Sauce & Ikan Pari/Stingray Sambal). Salmon unlike our local catch. They pretty much don't need much messing around in terms of ingredients. All you need? Some seasoning of dried oregano, dried mint leaves or other suitable dried herb, plus some crushed black pepper, salt and a tiny bit of oil for pan grilling (Grilled Fish In Banana Leaf, Otak-Otak & Grilled Fish Stuffed With Sambal). In fact, can be done in a jiffy and a dash of lemon juice atop grilled salmon. My-My!
