Easiest Spam Fried Rice Recipe

A bowl of fried rice, made with spam, eggs, garlic, mugwort, oil, black pepper and salt.
Aside from Spam, fried rice, commonly known as Nasi Goreng, is a favorite in Malaysia and Indonesia. Fried rice is made with leftover cooked white rice. There are no strict rules about ingredients. It is in fact all about personal preference. It makes a quick home cooked meal. Fried rice is suited for any time of the day, from breakfast to supper.

The type of rice is also a personal choice. For example, Basmati rice, with its fragrance, makes fried rice extra aromatic.

When it comes to Spam, brands vary. Whether Spam or luncheon meat (STIR-FRIED LUNCHEON MEAT) is preferred, both are suited for fried rice and are made from pork, with or without ham, chicken, or turkey.

No fried rice is complete without eggs (EGG FRIED RICE). They can be incorporated into the rice or served on the side, cooked wobbly or not. Adding herbs (CURRY LEAF RICE) like spring onion or coriander enhances the aroma. If available, mugwort can also be added, especially for those growing it as part of urban gardening.

This easy recipe makes a quick meal or a simple home cooked dish.
