Butter Cake Recipe

Butter cake, made with flour, butter, vanilla essence, sugar and eggs.

The ingredients for butter cake are easy to find and affordable. You can use a ready-made cake mixture or prepare a hand-made butter cake.

 

It takes patience. Do not overbeat or overfold when preparing a butter cake recipe. Avoid opening and closing the oven too often, as a drop in temperature may spoil the cake (SEMOLINA/SUGEE CAKE).

Baked with self raising flour, sugar, butter, vanilla essence cake.
Ingredients for Butter Cake
1 cup (250g) butter
1/3 cup (70g) caster sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 3/4 cups (200g) self-rising flour - sifted
1/2 tsp salt - omit if using salted butter
4 tbsp milk
Optional - 1 tbsp chocolate chips

How to Make Butter Cake
Cream butter and sugar till light and creamy.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each to a fluffy texture.
Tip in vanilla essence and salt, gently stir in.
Gradually fold in flour, to incorporate.
Add milk and chocolate chips, and fold in.

Tip cake batter into a greased baking pan.
Bake at preheated oven at 340°F (170°C) for an hour or until cooked.
Remove from oven.
