God! Don't we all love the no baking and no cooking, or maybe just a tiny of cooking involved, (Cucumber Yogurt Salad), or even just simmering after preparing the ingredients dishes (Vietnamese Fish Soup)? I don't know about you, nor I want to assume what, how and why you are in the kitchen for those hours, me on the other hand, I think most of you know me, me and my only that much of time for cooking? Indeed (Spicy Thai Noodles, Seafood Tom Yum Soup & Tom Yam Prawn Fried Rice). So, what's in store for us today for a wholesome and filling dish? Aha! You know it already. Recipe has spoken for itself, don't you think so? Of course. May look as though you have to crank your hours and crack your head, but let me assure you. Drumstick Sambar/ Murungakkai Sambar
Hi foodies,
Remember, we have to a certain extent spoken about drumstick, aka murungakkai (Meen Murungakkai Kulumbu)? That's right. Those drumsticks, those long hanging from murunggakai trees long beans. Usually, generally, mostly, in fact, most of the time, you shouldn't be surprise to see the beans swimming in our classical, Indians must have dal curry/sambar. And sambar, do I have to possibly tell you? Indian men and sambar (Mysore Sambar)? Don't try to separate them. Don't you dare, especially my Indian half-half, Indian husband of mine. That is why, are you like rolling your eyes why I have a collection of sambar in this previous space of mine (Sambar, Tanni Saar, Fish Sambar & Bitter Gourd Sambar). Also, be prepared. I have more of different kinds sambar up my sleeves, which by far I will be releasing from time to time. This latest version of mine. Obviously as I have told you, drumstick showcasing. Indeed, a vegetarian ringing dialing ringing tone (Indian Tofu Curry, Cauliflower Curry, Carrot Poriyal, Vegetarian Sandwich, Cucumber Yogurt Salad, Vegetable Kurma, Turmeric Tomato Soup & Spinach Tofu Stir Fry). Loud and clear potentially. Drumsticks and lentils the two celebrated ingredients, cooked alongside spices, and coriander leaves aroma waffling.

Pandan (Screwpine) Cheesecake
What's next after the pretty-pretty Mango Cheesecake & No Bake Cheesecake? Obviously, as you have already noted, Pandan (Screwpine) Cheesecake. Idea invention tumbling down from? No where actually. One of those things I suppose. One of those when you keep thinking and thinking. How far by the way I could I gone? Basically, the two previous cheesecakes being the idea ideology. After all, you tell me. Those of you who have already had a hands-on experience to baking (Lemon Cream Pie) cheesecake, I bet you know. You know which are the standard ingredients we need? Precisely. Cheese and the bottom biscuity layer. Right. But the challenger for me really was how much of, pandan/juice should I add instead of, of course, we love citrusy fruitiness and most probably can I say from mangoes (Mango Coconut Jelly, Mango Coconut Cake, Prawn Mango Curry & Mango Cucumber Salad). Or maybe even fruits, but I was so adamant about how can I incorporate Pandan juice from pandan leaves. Those of you are growing them, I bet you can connect to me? Why not to our garden harvested scent? Of course. I am one of them alright. Typical Malaysian my (Pandan Jelly With Coconut, Poached Pears in Citrus Syrup & Coconut Panna Cotta). What else should I say. Can I assume you are triggered? You like can't wait to make this Pandan (Screwpine) Cheesecake?

Philea Resort & Spa - Malacca, Malaysia
Malacca and myself? Back then maybe 30 years ago when I was a sweet young lolly and polly. Oh yes! Me being a heavy duty young thing. But if you are asking me now what happened to the kilos, they just? I became more conscious once the years slowly caught up on me and of course due to watching my diet and tons of exercise thrown in. Alright. Returning from Italy, my first ever over the sea trip (Rome & Verona/Milan), I decided I want to continue with the momentum of travelling. Malacca obviously was the destination and since I didn't dare travel alone, I asked my friend to tag along. But what caught me by surprise at the last hour was her husband who conveniently included himself. Nevermind I told myself in good faith of our friendship. Off to Malacca by pigging backing a friend and prior to arriving in Philea Resort & Spa located just after Ayer Keroh toll and once you take the left turn for going down the slope.

Spinach Tofu Stir Fry
Don't you think, will you not agree? This is such an attractive, healthy, power packing and so tempting side dish (Beans Thoran, Red Cabbage Thoran, Chloe Masala, Chilli Aloo, Eggplant Tikka Masala & Tapioca Stir Fry)? Spinach Tofu Stir Fry. I don't know about you, I was over the moon and over the hill and over cloud nine after I made this vegetarian side dish and after tucking in, we all at home agreed. We felt as though we are in a non-boring vegetarian food zone (Turmeric Tomato Soup, Cucumber Yogurt Salad, Cauliflower Fritters, Kurkuri Bhindi, Indian Style Mustard Greens, & Plantain Crumble). Of course. I mean, are you not drooling? You should. Otherwise, I rest my case. Whatever. Spinach and Tofu stir fried alongside garlic and cumin seeds, omit chillies for kid friendliness (Bitter Gourd, Aloo Gobi, Mor Kulumbu, Creamy Coconut Lentil Curry & Mor Rasam).

Turmeric Tomato Soup
Turmeric. Conclusively. Turmeric and us Indians. Turmeric and our Indian cooking. Turmeric is a must in our kitchen. Turmeric doing a whole lot of wonders for our health (Bitter Gourd Sambar, Mor Rasam, Creamy Coconut Lentil Curry, Sodhi & Mor Kuzambu). Of course. Undeniably. In fact, turmeric is our magical wand ingredient. You name it, it can ditch aside your health concern. The closest and nearest will be its anti-inflammatory benefits, goodness and nourishes. Careful though. A tiny bit goes a long way. Otherwise, bitterness may be the outcome of your dish (Aloo Gobi, Vazhakkai Podimas, Carrot Poriyal, Chloe Masala, Tapioca Stir Fry & Kurkuri Bhindi). Literally into any dish and today, lemme share with all of you how to make this simplified, healing our health and our well being Turmeric Tomato Soup (Corn Soup, Pumpkin Soup & Mixed Vegetable Soup). A couple of our pantry friendly ingredients, as usual (Cucumber Yogurt Salad), for this scented by cumin seeds and coriander leaves, tangy and non-boring Indian style Turmeric Tomato Soup.

Tea Eggs
Chinese. Tea. And Eggs. Can't be Indian and Tea Eggs or Malay and Tea Eggs? As far as I know, no. Indian of course, we are all about holiness, praying, temples and vegetarianism synonymous? Okay. Okay. I shall stop with my Indian antics. No more needling the thread and needle about Indians in this pitching (Indian-Spiced Salmon)? Enough right? I better. What's in store today for these Tea Eggs. As I have already told you, the Chinese way to Tea Eggs (Rice Congee, Yong Tau Foo, Char Kway Teow & Chinese Prawn Fritters). The instant version. Meaning, you need to get the pre-packed Herbal Tea Eggs Spices. From Chinese shops of course. Quite a variety available these days. Pick whichever or ask. I bet they won't mind recommending (Chick Kut Teh). Any by far will do, or the one I have opted for. A couple of dollars only (Chap Chai & Chicken Black Vinegar) for celebration eggs. Eggs are the core ingredient. Yes. Otherwise, we can't be naming this recipe as Tea Eggs (Egg Fish Roll, Salted Egg Chicken, Egg Curry Masala & Tofu Scrambled Eggs)? Next? Let's, can we make? We should. Tea leaves in sachet, cinnamon, cloves and dark soy sauce, simmered alongside eggs over very-very low heat or in the slow cooker (Egg Vindaloo & Fried Egg Oyster Sauce). My version, don't you think looks unique? Different? Indeed. I added potatoes (Egg Potato Curry). Anything wrong? Are you right now flipping upside down, inside out? Please don't. Conclusively, potato in tea eggs is a pride. Also, Hoisin sauce added and garnished by spring onion. Tea eggs by the way can be eaten as a snack or how about pairing alongside Rice Congee or into salad (Cucumber Yogurt Salad)?
