Maybelline Color Sensational Velvet Matte Lipstick

Beauty advisers I realise tend to talk hell of lot as though beauty is at our finger tips. These so called "Ms or Mr Know It All" generally preach that “fifties is the new thirties", hei-hello!! I like to believe so. If I had lotsa money, if I am a superstar, if I have bags of beauty goodies like them or if I am a lady of leisure, of course looking forever young forever is absolute. But the real-time reality seriously is otherwise. For the ordinary women like me or for every other ordinary married woman, money comes first before anything else (TheBalm timeBalm). Additionally, we work to contribute towards household expenses, we mostly solely manage our home affairs and kids, the biggest challenge I bet is managing the nut-case husband. Grrrr!! Actually, I do have a whole lot more to vomit out especially on husbands, but I think its best we don't divert to the never ending topic. Lets for this moment in time, temporarily ditch aside husband's antics because you know why? At the end of a tiring day coupled with limited budget, I can understand why perking beauty with a red lipstick is completely forgotten.    

Even so, take it seriously from this lady who is 52 going on 53. Sometimes we have say “hack” to everything and go for the bold-daring red lippie. Hailed as a bullet of investment, red lippie can automatically light up a glow on our complexion, but please for god sake, ensure that red does not make you look as though you flew from outer space. Now, if you are thinking of getting a red lipstick right now, I shall roll out this Maybelline Color Sensational lipstick (Mat 9) I picked up from Guardian.

I know. I already have a tiny collection of red lippies (Taiwan PSK Make Up Glitter Gloss Lipstick, Elianto Brilliant Riche, Maybelline Color Sensational Red Porcelain & Rocking Red Lips), I can't help it ladies. Red is my favourite colour. It does compliment my olive skin tone. Red again considering I was also eager to glam up for the approaching within two weeks family wedding (Suisse Programme Cellular Revitalizing Eye Mask).

How to use

Apply using the applicator wand provided. Start at the center of your upper lips to the outer corners of your mouth. Finish by gliding across the entire bottom lip.

Maybelline Color Sensational packaged in an admirable elegant plastic tube will take least space in your handbag or even in a small evening clutch, but its black matte cap must be tightly screwed back after using. I thought I might as well remind you because as I have already mentioned,, time again is a matter of fact why such a thing may slip of our mind. To apply, well, trend behind Maybelline’s cue, I however start by swirling the unique shaped sponge applicator in the tube to pick up a good bit of this creamy and liquid lippie before tracing and covering my entire dry and really pigmented big lips twice. Yes, twice to make it opaque.  

The applicator evidently does a good job in smothering this lippie's super creamy formula to keep my lips glossy, sexy and attractive all day long. It also provides maximum even coverage without accentuating my fine lines, though not 100% perfect. And it does smudge quite obviously around my mouth once I start eating. Regardless, I am in love with this matte red because unlike other matte lipsticks I have tried previously, it does not dry out completely. Therefore, for all its favorable points, I am flagging Maybelline Color Sensational Velvet Matte lipstick as the only on-the-go make-up for brightening my always tired skin and for jazzing-up my fifties beauty confidence (Maybelline Big Eyes Mascara). For you beauties, whether you choose this red or any other, I agree red lips can't possibly solve our daily challengers, but it certainly can put a broad smile on our face.
