Sarong - Fashion Statement (Hail Our Fifties Ladies)

Hi Ladies,

How's everyone doing? Hopefully all of you are as strong and as tough as ever. Remember something! Never allow anyone to get to you. Not even your spouse. He of course must be there for you, but he can't simply take over your life. He shouldn't by right. Unless we are up to man cheeky mischief behind his back? Can you please put a stop to your so called harmless flirting with another man? I am sure we won't tolerate any bit of our husbands innocent or intentional, in the name of women friendship? I for once won't. I am one of those who don't flirt with my male friends, so why should I close my eyes to him texting? Harmless flaunting mind you is the start to our marriage wracking us up in return. Unless both of you are in an open marriage relationship which by way is common these days. For me, no matter what, I can't accept him being over-friendly with women. Say all you want, I will never change my mind. Because when it comes to even my dressing, I care about how he feels. Not to say I don't have common sense, but if my other half-half feel I am a fashion disaster, and he out-rightly think I look like a clown or slut in what I am wearing, it matters to me. After all, I myself want to remain as someone who is sensible to my fashion style. Trust me, what may have looked perfect on us when we were younger won't take us through our fifties. Lets grow old professionally, lets uphold our dignity. 

Oh god, I can go on and on mind you, and there will be no end to the road of Nava K's fifties theories and philosophies. But in all good intention ladies, please don't get me wrong. Enough said I suppose, lets get down to our fashion business now. Remember our first start to Fashion With Sarees? I hope you can recall, otherwise I suggest you take a moment to digest my pitching on saree fashion style. Where are we heading today? Obviously, our Malaysian sarong. The traditional pride and joy, the forever in style and the never will go out of fashion sarong. Of course, sarong fashion statement can't be forever like my dad's home sarong? Speaking about my dad, my eyes are now welled with tears because dad is in heaven now. I suppose memories will forever linger, my dad in his sarong was his own sarong fashion icon. Only that, I did worry though if sarong will drop off when he is alcohol tipsy. Dad my hero I think actually showed me the way to sarong as my fashion style from as young as I was, until I actually was comfortable in baju kurung to school instead of pinafore. Subsequently when I started working, baju kurung and baju kebaya became my at least once a week office attire. Mum too was happy. Why not? As long we are covered fully, those days Indian mothers will be proud of us, unlike mothers these days who won't mind flash showing. 

Alright, lets get this act of ours together to the core of sarong. As you would have already noted in the first  picture, overall, one piece sarong can do a whole lot of fashion trending. Whether you prefer a single color, either way bold or plain color, or you actually prefer a multi colored sarong, its your choice. Potentially, a plain sarong coordinates well with any top. A single colored top, black can never go wrong,  you shouldn't discount a flowered top or patterned top as well. But please, stay clear of those big flowers top. I doubt those will look good on us, unless you can prove me wrong. Also, sarong in our fifties should be as simple as possible. Say no to the fancy frilly designs which I bet are not only a fashion fallout, I bet you will struggle in walking.     

Additionally, too tight a sarong is the road to tearing or splitting when you least expect. Anything too tight for the matter has never been comfortable, of course, to temporarily nip and tuck your bulges, I won't stop you from wearing cosset. I'm definitely not a cosset person. Not for me please. The other option to sarong of course is a whole suit which by the way is plentiful these days. Ready made or get the material to your tailor and tell her or him that simple straightforward styles will be appreciated. 

After all, once you add some accessories like a long or short necklace, the list for woman's accessories is never a full stop. Watches, earnings, bangles, shoes, handbag, hair clips, so on and so forth. But in all fairness, do not over do it until its a clash between your sarong and accessories. I think I have already given you enough clue or tips, get going ladies. Don't shun away from sarong as your fashion statement. I vouch you will thank me for showing you that our Malaysian sarong does look good for our fifties. Stay positive ladies till we meet again. Take care.
