What’s with me and this latest beauty love for my beauty vanity? Honestly, to tell you the truth, I myself didn’t have any clue whatsoever. Basically, I picked it up, you know this beauty temptation of mine? Just at random while I walked the walk in Body Shop. Nothing really in particular on my mind, I browsed through their products, and since I have never ever tried such a product, for lips and cheeks in one, I thought I might as well try and then, for the beauty gain of all of us, we must get down to its nooks and cranny, instead of blah-blah blasting Body Shop's philosophy (Body Shop Olive Shower Gel, Body Shop Elder Flower Eye Gel & Body Shop Face Spritz). Don't we all know it? Don't we all know about cruelty free, not tested on animals and what not?
Body Shop Lips & Cheek Stain obviously is for staining. In other words, for adding a touch of color to our lips and for contouring or highlighting our cheeks. I particularly opted for this bright maroon/deep berry (03) because I love brightest color on my lippie. Color does instantly wake me up, no doubt, love it to its core, it does give me the hue vibrancy. No, I didn't regret opting for this color. But applying, mind you, as easy as you may have perceived, it's not. You gotto go over and over, again and again a few times if you want a full coverage. One swipe does not do the job. In fact, with one swipe, you will have trouble getting an even tone. Some parts of your lips will be beautifully shaded, whereas the rest will be empty. Therefore, logically, we have to swipe, at least three times and you gotto wait at least a minute or two before it dries up. Maybe that's why, we need patience for building it up? I reckon.
Staying on my pout for the next two hours or until I have a meal or drink, its runny formula is well picked up by the wand, no qualms, but because stain is rather strong, I don't think wiping off with tissue is advisable. To remove, you should use a make up remover or lip friendly remover. Olive oil should be a safe bet for removing and simultaneously for nourishing our lips. The other thing I am not really impress with this stain is that it sinks into my lines massively. A touch of gloss should help? Presumably.
As a cheek stain, Body Shop Lip & Cheek Stain is not a winner. Not for me though. I struggle with firstly, applying. The color does smear once I try to stroke even it, and no matter what, I end up looking like a clown. The shade by itself is too bright, I am actually someone who prefer just a natural highlight. Packaging is the standard of Body Shop (Body Shop Vitamin C Reviver Duo and Body Shop Brow & Lash Gel) and sincerely, tell me, worth paying RM55.70? What say you? You really think Body Shop Lip & Cheek Stain is a must have or one of the best among the rest in the beauty market? To tell you the truth, on one side, I love the color, one the other, price and whether its worth the effort and time in applying.
