First thing first once we stepped foot in Penang airport. Food (Kayu Nasi Kandar), next was to Ixora Hotel. The latest addition to the existing list of hotels in Prai, Ixora indeed was super clean and akin super polished. What do you expect? A new hotel. Everything must be impressive, otherwise, something is wrong somewhere. Nice. I won't dispute, prompt service too though smile was tight, after collecting our smart cards (2x), off we left for our room.
Not a letdown, spacious, white walls contrasted
alongside dark furnitures and fittings, I would have actually appreciated a
splash of, at least one bright vibrant color to enliven our room. Still, as I
have already said, room was well set-up, clean bedsheets and bathroom was
conducive as well. However, it didn't make sense that we were in a room with two
single beds. Why? Maybe my cousin overlooked it when booking, or hotel simply
allocated this room? I really don't know. Anyway, instead of changing room, we
joined both beds, we showered and since its been quite a rush after work
for coming over to Penang, we called it a night soon
thereafter.
Early to bed and early to rise has never been our philosophy, except when its work commitment. So, even though we were in bed before 12am, we still struggle to wake up. Nonetheless, with the family function starting at 10pm, we had to hop out of bed, we showered and down to the dining area for buffet breakfast. Not really a big spread, but ample choices between local and western dishes. My other half quickly decided on his standard breakfast -eggs,oats,croissant, fruits and coffee.
I of course must take pictures first right?? And Malaysians must stare, slyly giggle or give the dirty look right? I know. With time running up, once I have clicked a few pictures, I filled my plate with nasi lemak and a tiny pie, coffee of course is a sheer morning pleasure.
