Really. Really really early morning jump start. By 7.00am if I am not mistaken and the earliest so far for a matter of fact. Breakfast in hotel before the long drive to Halong Bay (Siam Reap Cambodia). Of course, in between we taking a couple of comfort breaks and lunch as well, but basically, putting our butts in the coach throughout the day (Angkor Wat & Ho Chi Minh City). I guess then, best will be catching up on our sleep for ditching aside tiredness which trust me has already accumulated. Tiredness due to action packed sightseeing for the last few days. Did I sleep? I sure did. Me catching up on my sleep or sleep catching up on me, whichever, and while on our way to Halong Bay, rain shelling heavily. Thus, driver slowly down his speed to driving and prior to us arriving in the hotel by 9.00pm, followed by dinner immediately and heading to our respective rooms.
Out of hotel by 8.30am next morning and standing in the queue for our Halong Bay Cruise by 9.00am. Wondrous weather. Will blowing all over and we being seated in the Vietnamese boat all by ourselves instead of sharing with other tourists. Halong Bay cruising. Such a pleasure. Amazing nature view and Halong Bay being UNESCO world heritage Centre and also, one of the nature wonders of the world. Absolutely a winner. Mountains, clear water, boats going up and down and as though you cruising down one of the best places on earth and heaven. Just so spectacular.
Almost more than half an hour of cruising, thereafter we having a stop at Dau Go Cave which I think will be part of your cruising as well. Wasn't easy though getting down from the boat and we had to be helped out by the boat guys, before walking in a single file into the cave. Dau Go Cave. Sincerely admirable. Breathtaking no doubt. Dau Ho Cave, aka Cave Of Wonder being the biggest and most beautiful grotto in Halong Bay, and where you will see the magnificent rock formation by virtue of various shapes and sizes stalactites and stalagmites. Colorfully lighted up too. But the downer? I thought the colorful lights were corny. Taking away what nature should be. Why can't they just only focus on white or yellow lights which of course are needed instead of darkness. The colorful lights? Such a spoiler.
20 minutes in the cave before we making about u-turn for returning to the bay and hopping into our boat. Cruising back down? The same scenery over and over again, and our cruise packaged with lunch on board. More than enough to around seafood mostly and vegetarians dishes for the vegetarians. Stir fried veggies and seafood dishes, served one after another. Worth the meal. Especially when you know that these are cooked on the spot, and seafood definitely proven as Vietnamese water fresh catch. We eat to glory. We sure did.
Back to the pier for putting a permanent full-stop to our Halong Cruise by 1.30pm.
