Vegetarian Fish and Potatoes Sambal (Sauce)

Seldom is the call for mock fish. In fact, I'm not sure why I ended up buying this vegetarian fish. Most vegetarian mock meat is basically about artificial colouring and flavoring, except the vegetarian mushroom stalk mutton (Vegetarian Mutton Rendang). I know. I guess slip of the mind is not the fault of nava-k. Instead of throwing, well, I thought I might as well cook. I'm sure there are takers for this vegetarian fish and potato sambal (Aloo GobiMee Rojak Vegetarian, Corn Soup Indian Style, Cumin Rice, Indian Vegetable Curry & Yam Basket Vegetarian). So, I made it. Of course delicious if you are asking me.

Ingredients
250gram (1 block) vegetarian fish - sliced
2 medium (about 150g) potatoes - boiled till tender, cool down, remove skin and cut into pieces.

For the Sambal/Sauce
2 tbsp dried chilli paste (or as per taste)
5 shallots - sliced thinly
2 calamansi lime - squeeze out the juice
1 tbsp sweet soya sauce
2 sprigs curry leaves
Oil as needed
Salt for taste

Method:
Deep fry mock fish in oil.
Remove and keep aside.
Do the same to potatoes; fry till crispy.
Leave about 2 tbsp of oil in the same pan.
Saute shallots, add chilli paste.
Fry till aromatic.
Add curry leaves, soy sauce, fried fish and potatoes.
Squeeze in lime.
Stir all in and remove from heat.
