Restaurant Syed - Seksyen 9, Shah Alam

Recommended by my half-half who used to stay across Restaurant Syed, I was also told that Bukhara Nasi Beriyani is one of the best. So, we came over for an early lunch and after parking right in front of the restaurant, we walked in at about 11.30am. Being the Ramadhan month, there were hardly any customers but still a good number of other races were standing around to pack food, obviously I could see it was the Bukhara Nasi Beriyani packed nicely in boxes.

A no frilly restaurant,  besides their famous Briyani, there's the pre-prepared lunch dishes though a limited selection. We ordered mutton briyani, chicken briyani, fried fish egg, carrot juice and ice lime juice.  

Those came cruising just so fast and for the Chicken Beriyani - grainy basmati rice cooked with spices and curry paste, fruit pickle and boiled egg. Mutton briyani about the same except for the big chunk of mutton over the rice and for the dishes, a plate of plain dhal. Rice was tasty, mutton and chicken tender and flavourful, dhal curry just so-so, fruit pickle overly sweet and the over fried fish egg I had a hard time chewing.   

Still, I agreed with half-half that Bukhara Beriyani was delicious and value for money as the portion was quite big. (total bill - RM30.00).
