Dorsett Grand Subang - Ramadhan Celebration Of Two Worlds Under One Roof

After the recent Cafe Aroma's 5-Star kopitiam experience, yours truly was back to Dorsett Grand Subang for the Ramadhan blogger/media review. An annual celebration for the time of year, started off with the welcoming speech by Mr Hugo Herritsen, Area General Manager of Dorsett Grand Subang, the next sight to greet the diners' eyes was the traditional Malaysian cuisine. Tucking into the array of dishes, a personal favourite of mine definitely was the Roasted Lamb and Masak Lemak Nenas Ikan Masin. The meat was tender and the masak lemak for the ever-loved salty, sour, spicy and sweet tastes. Indeed, truly captivating!

Apart from these two dishes, the myriad of mouth-watering delicacies and the assorted traditional kuih kept me going back for seconds. Absolutely, Ramadhan at Dorsett Grand Subang showcases the delights of two worlds under one roof for the Month of Ramadhan, from 7 June to 6 July 2016.

Selera Kampung @ Melati
Selera Kampung brings back the nostalgia of home, through authentic Malaysian cuisine and décor. The daily rotation of buffet options range from appetisers to desserts that will leave you more than satisfied.

For those return diners from Ramadhan last year, they would be delighted to know that the popular ‘Gear Box’ Soup will be making its return for the month long Ramadhan season. This nutritious and delicious soup is well known for its use of cattle bone boiled with a multitude of spices which many diners are so fond of. Along with the famed ‘Gear-Box’ Soup, guests will also enjoy appetisers such as Kerabu Mangga, Ulam-ulaman segar and Kerabu Jantung Pisang. As for main course, sink your teeth into the nasi briyani gam ayam, masak lemak nenas ikan and Mee rebus.

As diners are well into their feast, Geng Wak Long will entertain diners with their musical prowess which range from Kelantanese Traditional music to Malaysian pop music. They will be performing exclusively in Dorsett Grand Subang for the entire month of Ramadhan. Along with live entertainment, from Friday to Sunday, diners will have the opportunity to win prizes from our weekly lucky draw generously donated by our sponsors.

Available from 6.00-9.30pm the buffet is priced at RM140.00 per person, senior citizen and children ages 6 to 12 years get to enjoy 50% discount. For reservations at Selera Kampung @ Melati, please call 03-5031 6060.

Flavours of Ramadhan @ Terazza Brasserie
Tearing away from its Mediterranean décor, Terazza Brasserie is transformed into an Arabian paradise. Adorned with wispy colourful drapes, magnificent tents and gleaming lamps, illuminating the brilliance of Terazza Brasserie’s Ramadhan ambiance. From their repertoire of culinary indulgences, Chef Shabani Sahan, Sous Chef and his team have prepared a spread of local and international cuisine inspired by their Arabian Theme this Ramadhan. From appetizer to delectable desserts you, your family and friends will fall in love with the menu selections, which are rotated on a daily.
The feast consist of a buffet of local and international delight, namely Arabian inspired dishes such as Shawarma, Roasted Lamb with Arabian Fragrant Rice and to satisfy that sweet tooth – Turkish ice cream. Shawarma is a well-known Middle Eastern meat preparation, where the meats are stacked and packed with mouth-watering seasoning on a vertical rotisserie. The meats are then slowly roasted as it turns. The roasted meat is then shaved of layer by layer and made up into a sandwich consisting of vegetables and dressing. Turkish Ice Cream (or Dondurma which means freezing in Turkish) is a common dessert sold in Turkey by street cart vendors and at store fronts. Turkish ice cream defers from normal ice cream by its texture and thickness. Due to its thick and chewy nature, the Turkish ice cream has to be constantly churned with a long handled paddle. Just watching the vendor as he serves the dessert live is a treat on its own.
Flavours of Ramadhan @ Terazza Brasserie run from 6.00pm to 9.30pm and priced at RM150.00 per person, senior citizen and children ages 6 to 12 years get to enjoy 50% discount. For reservations at Flavours of Ramadhan @ Terazza Brassiere, please call 03-5031 6060 ext 1912.

Advanced booking is encouraged to avoid disappointment.
From 1 May until 7 June 2016, Dorsett Grand Subang is offering an Early Bird Voucher at 25% off which you can purchase at our Ramadhan Counter located at the hotel lobby, in front of Piano Lounge.
