The Body Shop Lip & Cheek Stain

Its been said that we should live within our means. I try to. I really do. But you see, how can it possibly be to walk past beauty stores and don't buy anything. Skin-care and make-up products are like a magnetic attraction for me. If I don't buy at least one product, my head will explode. Talk about will power. Can we?? As it is, there's no more space on and in the dressing table. Too many mostly skin care products until some just tested for a few times and conveniently became ornaments. In fact just three weeks ago, I bought the Elianto Brilliant Riche Lipstick. Truly nice for my lips but here I am again. Thank you to the well trained TBS promoters. They don't bug you but they sure know how to pitch for sales. I look at the lip & cheek stain, she comes over, I tested the colour and I bought. About the same story always.

This stain is another of TBS dual purpose product (Body Shop Vitamin C Reviver Duo and Body Shop Brow & Lash Gel, dermatologically tested, not tested on animals and cruelty free subsidiary.
The bright cherry colour is the main reason why I bought the stain (rocking red lips) and not to polish the apples of the cheeks as its been proven that for my sensitive skin, a natural powder blusher is suitable. Also, since I seldom apply blusher, I wasn't tempted to thoroughly blend the watery stain to flush my cheeks. On the lips, the stain goes on without much work to give a nice sheer finishing. The non-sticky fragrance-free formula is comfortable to wear and the drying time is quite fast. It can be built-up for a more dramatic look but I keep it to a single swipe for casual outings. For special occasions, the stain is dabbed in the centre of the bottom lip and then both lips pressed softy to spark and shine.

The colour oh-so-nice for my lips but I wonder where it vanishes. Within 10 minutes, I don't see any more colour. It fades off on the outer edges whereas the inner parts of the lips remain much darker, giving a blotchy look. I guess if you are in a cruelty free zone, you won't mind re-applying after wiping off the patchiness. To say the stain is affordable it is not. Perhaps its also my imagination that the stain  is drying up by itself as I can count the numbers of times I've used.

Sorry TBS stain. I have to say bye-bye to you. However doesn't mean I won't be tempted to walk into your stores again.
