Lakme Enrich Satin Lip Color

Ohhh!! Lakme used to be my favorite brand during my teenage years. In fact it was the only brand I could afford even after I started working in my early twenties. My friends were the Lakme dealers, so buying was pretty easy. I go to their house, look through the samples, especially the lipstick shades in a huge palette and order what I want. Initially I tried a few different shades. Thereafter I knew which shades suited my skin and so I repurchased by ordering through the phone.

I've also tried Lakme shimmering eye shadows and the kajal. Still lipsticks were my preference. Subsequently along the years, Lakme sort of disappeared from the market. Don't know why but it didn't exist anymore. By then I have switched to other brands and I completely forgot about Lakme. Since of late, Lakme has made a strong presence again. I knew because I've been reading online. So I went from one pharmacy to the other looking for the products. But couldn't find. I gave up until when I was in Pavilion for the TasteEnclave food review. I walked into Guardian and happiness indeed to see Lakme products. But sad that the shelf was half empty. Just a couple of products as though the stocks weren't replenished. Anyway, I badly wanted to buy the lip color. I swatched a couple of shades on my hand and bought this red maroon shade, known as number 427.
Lakme Enrich Satin Lip Color keeps your lips satin soft, vibrant and lasts long. With 26 new shades added to the range of colors, makes a total of 70 brilliant shades to suit all skin tones.

Olive Extracts

The lipstick is housed in an ordinary regular maroon packaging. The plastic used is good and it has a golden colored bullet inside. It has a faint pleasant smell that is okay with me. The texture is soft, creamy and luscious. It glides smoothly and effortlessly without leaving crumbs for a glossy shiny finish.
The pigmentation is also good. One swipe gives a perk-up coverage. For a stunning pop of colour, swipe two or more layers. The flattering shade is lovely on me. I like how it brightens my bare face for I don’t use any other make-up but definitely protected with sunblock. On special occasions, I accentuate my lips by applying a shimmering gloss over the lipstick.
The lipstick is hydrating and makes fine lines less visible. However it stays on for 3 to 4 hours. Shorter lifespan with lip gloss. Similar to other lipsticks I've used before, reapplying is essential with this lipstick too. It also leaves a slight stain that I like for it adds a pinched flush of color on my pigmented pout. I am impressed with Lakme enrich satin. It’s inexpensive (around RM16.00) and the shade is gorgeous. I just wish more shades are replenished at the shelf.

  2. Suits you, Nava. The higher range of Lakme is really good. It was so much part of my growing up years particularly the moisturiser. I still use the lipsticks.
