For The Love Of Mum On Mother’s Day

Mothers undoubtedly are the most previous gift in our world.  Despite the many things they juggle in life, their priority is all about the well- being and happiness and a bright future for their kids. Apart from that, their sacrifices cannot be measured because there’s no limit on how far they bend for the sake of giving the best. But those great qualities may not be perfect or as how we expect. For me, it’s been a “roller-coaster” bonding journey with my mum from the day I fast grew up and seem like nothing has changed. Well, what can you expect from two ladies with opposite personalities? She is the typical conservative Indian lady without much education whereas I am the modern open-minded person with a string of qualifications and have had great exposure on how to adapt and look at life broadly. Thanks to my professional careers, my other half, my friends and my travel ventures.

Regardless of what it has been and will be, I won’t ever complain about mums “tender-loving-care’ and she will forever be the most important lady in my life. Definitely we are not the best of friends but we know how to put our differences aside and be there for each other. For as long as I can remember, I always make it a point to honor and treasure mum on Mother’s day, usually a meal with the rest of the clan included. Of course mum call the shots on where to eat.  Still she does trust my instincts because against all odds, just like me, she is adventurous on trying different cuisines.

This year however is a whole new chapter for both of us. Two months back, she lost her ability to walk and now that I work from home, I am her personal full time “nurse”. Thankfully she is currently on the road to recovery though not 100% stable as before.  Even so, I foresee that it’s possible to take her out for a nice family meal on Mother’s day. But somehow she feels it will be troublesome. Neither am I going to push it any further. So the high possibility is showers of love with chocolates - undeniable her favorite. Rather than the ordinary type,  I am contemplating between the “Vintage Rose & Freesia with No Sugar Added Caramel & Fudge”, Continental Tasting Heart Collection or Luxury Champagne Hamper from Thortons - not only for Mother’s day but as a pat on her shoulder for courageously walking again.

What about you and your love journey with your mum? With Mother’s day fast approaching, perhaps you too have plans on appreciating mum for  the big or little things she did without expecting any returns.
