Dorsett Grand Subang - Toss Your Way Into The New Year

For me there's something magical about tossing yee sang. I like the fact that it brings people from all walks of life together for a joyous happy auspicious celebration to usher Chinese New Year. Thus when I was invited by Dorsett Subang for the Chinese New Year food review, I definitely looked forward to the significance of the tossing and the full course Chinese dinner. However I couldn't immediately decide because I was in two minds. Coincidently mum was being discharged from the medical centre, around the same time and day.

Regardless of that, don't ask me how I managed. I still was adamant and came over to Emperor Chinese Restaurant I have never been to before. I walked in and I sincerely loved the impressive ambiance - the water fountain and colour coordination which calmed my confused and guilty thoughts. Equally impressive was the layout of the tables for a comfortable dinner.

The dishes for the "Goodwill Prosperity All Year Around Set"whipped by the hotel's very experienced Executive Chef Loh Jiunn Voon and his teams were then laid out for photo taking session - each with an auspicious meaning behind it.
Prosperity “Yee Sang” with Salmon Fish and Crispy Fish Fritters (fame and recognition)
Double-Boiled Cordyceps Flower with Dried Scallops and Black Chicken Soup (successful career).
Roasted Crispy Spring Chicken (abundance of blessings)
Steamed Sea Garouper with “Hong Kong” Style (laughter and happiness)
Fried Tiger Prawns with Curry Leaf and Lemon Grass (extravagant fortune)
Braised Fish Maw with “Sarjien” Oyster and Black Mushroom (wishes fulfilled)
Steamed Lotus Leaf Rice with Diced Chicken and Yam Diced (joyful reunion)
Chilled Almond Nut with Dried Pear and Aloe Vera (a sweet year ahead)

Thereafter it was the moment I was waiting for - the tossing of yee sang. We tossed it as high as we can and enjoyed the fresh salmon pieces with crispy fritters - bursting flavours though I can't specifically nail each one of it. I eat and I had to leave. No doubt I was disappointment that I couldn't sample the rest of dishes at this restaurant which has received a couple of awards.

But then again, since these delectable meals are available for lunch or dinner from 1 February to 5 March 2015, (from RM988.00++ per set), I left happily while trying to decide on the eight to ten family members I can bring over. Otherwise I can be contented with ordering the Salmon Yee Sang priced at RM48.00++, either by calling +60 3 5031 6060 or contacting
The other option is at The Terazza Brasserie - ‘create’ my own fortune Salmon Yee Sang by putting together the available fresh ingredients for our dining pleasure. To complement this wholesome experience, a variety of Asian delights such as Hainanese Chicken Rice, Peking Duck, Braised Beef Rib with Chinese Black Pepper, Stir Fried Chilli Crab and Creamy Buttered Prawn with Cili Padi are offered at the buffet line. These meals can be enjoyed on 18, 19 and 20 February 2015 at RM108.00++ per person.
