Literally forced to skip breakfast at Eastern & Oriental Hotel (Deluxcious Spa) because of the last hour call from the family, at about 10.00am, we arrived at this "bustling busy" Restaurant Jaya. Another usual Indian eatery which offers similar types of food like the breakfast meals, Indian sweets and surprisingly at this hour, the array of lunch dishes were already in full force. Taking a seat in the basic ambiance, we called for teh tarik, 2 teh tarik, 1 Nescafe, vadai and each a "tosai".
Efficiently within a couple of minutes, food and drinks arrived. The fresh and made on the spot tosai eaten with the flavorful coconut chutney, tomato chutney and dhal was worth calling for. Nice and double yum, I simply loved the spicy chutneys. In fact, we requested for specifically another serving of the tomato chutney.
The vadai on the other hand was so-so, I mean, just ordinary but cannot be faulted. whereas the hot beverages are the standard fare as in other restaurants.Honestly, after this meal, I am hoping I can return again to Restoran Jaya to test their lunch spread.
