Shu Uemura Ultime8 Sublime Cleansing Oil

My journey with Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil started five years ago. In between because of money matters and out of curiosity, I switched to Body Shop Moisture White Shiso which was still okay but using it twice a day broke up my sensitive-combination skin. So, I was back again to Shu Uemura counter and this time, I bought their famed beauty best-sellers cleansing oil.

Sublime Cleansing Oil is made by merging the precious essence of 8 botanical origin oil, those sought from Chinese medicines and beauty oils all over the world and proven to have the highest skincare efficacy for a petal-soft silky smooth sensation. Formulated for the ultimate solution to 8 skin benefits, this cleansing oil is powerful yet it is a gentle botanical origin removal system for the effortless cleansing to remove all kind of make-up and impurities. When used consistently, skin is softened, conditioned, hydrated, nourished from within and glows with a new radiance.
While this oil can be applied on the body to nourish or massage the skin, for the price I paid, I definitely treasured it only for the face.
As said before, using this oil is pretty much the same as with other cleansing oils or you can refer to the chart above. So, I'll tell on you how this light floral thick oil fared on my skin. Actually, it is a pretty decent oil similar to the rest from the Shu Uemura range. But after the first week, I again concluded I can't use it twice a day as my skin started breaking up with tiny bumps. Well, I was not surprised and so, I use it once a day in the evening after work and MAC formula cleanser in the morning. Also, I can't seem to get it right with cleansing oil for removing mascara and eye liner because even with reapplying and gently massaging the oil on my lashes and under my eyelids, it doesn't do a good job. So I either use eye make-up remover or cotton pad damped with olive oil.

For travelling, I carry the samples generously given every time I buy Shu Uemura products or I repack the oil in smaller bottles. But if you still want to carry this 450ml bottle, with its easy lock mechanism for the pump, you are ensured the oil will not spill all over your luggage.

Right now I have not decided if I will repurchase again because I foresee this oil will last for another year.
