Don't we all love fresh healthy Thai salad which can be easily put up together without compromising on the fundamental Thai flavours? Spiciness, sweetness, saltiness and sourness.
Frankly speaking, I have always been fond of Thai food (Tom Yam Fried Rice, Sour Fish Soup, Thai Salmon Noodle Soup & Basil Pepper Crab), but the love for it became bolder and stronger after my first ever solo trip to Bangkok. Ever since then, aplenty Thai dishes has been replicated. Name some of the popular dishes, I think I have it for you (Thai Style Carrot Soup & Tom Yam Seafood Soup). Do take your time to check out those Thai dishes I have already shared, meanwhile, its another Thai dish today (Mango Sticky Rice, Tom Yum Goong, Basil Tomato Soup, Thai Prawn Spaghetti & Thai Style Steamed Fish). Thai papaya salad. Quite a lengthy list of ingredients but making is super duper easy - slice and cut, fry the dried prawns and toss together. Super yummi-yummo as a side dish or for nibbling, similar to the kerabu mango.
Ingredients
1/2 unripe/semi ripe papaya -remove seeds and skin and cut into thin strips.
1/4 cucumber (optional) - remove seeds and cut into thin strips with the skin on
2 tbsp dried prawns - fried till crispy and crunchy
4 shallots - sliced thinly
1-2 red chilies/bird eye chilies - sliced thinly
1 lemongrass - shredded
1 tbsp roasted white sesame seeds
1/2 tbsp fish sauce
1 tbsp lime juice
3-4 sprigs basil leaves - remove leaves and shred.
1-2 sprigs spring onion - shredded
1-2 sprigs of coriander leaves - shredded
1-2 tsp sugar
Salt to taste
Method
Combine and mix all the ingredients.
