Golden Thai Seafood Village - (Batu Ferringhi, Penang) Malaysia

Dining with the extended family I agree is about bonding but with 25 different characters, it can be head splitting. First, deciding where to eat considering who eats what. And then tailing gating just to be make sure the bearing is right to reach the destination. Anyhow and anyway, we were at this restaurant, popularly known for their wide spread seafood dishes. Impressive as you want in. You see the fresh occupants, some I have never seen in my entire life, thereafter seated at the dining area while the cultural show was going on.

Ordering was no easy feat either. Well, as expected because there were the staunch vegetarians while the rest pretty didn't mind anything as long as food arrived. As usual the little plates of peanuts came first but definitely looking at that it was almost 9pm, all swept clean within not a couple of minutes but a couple of seconds.
Dishes didn't take too long. One by one they appeared. Must be because there were hardly any customers. Anyway, everyone started tucking into the
Sawi (Green Mustard) Stir Fried With Garlic
Asparagus Belacan/Shrimp Paste
Prawn Egg Foo Yong
Grilled Prawns With Custard Sauce
Asam Steamed Fish
Ginger Chili Steamed Fish
Kam Heong Crabs

Well, not too bad the dishes. For me, the winners were the two fish dishes - spicy, tangy and definitely the big bold flavours. The crab dish however was a little let down. Not spicy enough. Still, everyone agreed it's a lovely meal and enough to go around. The bill - as expected a big bomb. Truly pricey.
