Rose Garden Riverside - Bangkok, Thailand (Thai Village and Cultural Show)

I walked out of the restaurant (Rose Garden Buffet) at about 1.45pm and sat for while in front of the lake until I saw everyone slowly walking towards the Thai cultural village. Afraid that I may miss out on something, I quietly tacked along but the show was no show until 2.30pm.
The village displays the true culture of Thailand. You see the costumes, you see the mock padi field and the life of the Thai people. Then you see the the quintessential herbs that flavours up the bold flavours in Thai cuisine. About that's all to kill time before the cultural show begins.

The one hour show showcased the popular Thai kick boxing, folk dance, sword fighting and more cultural costumes. Promising start but draggy as well as overdoing. After half an hour, I almost dozed off.

At the end of the show, the audience were invited to join the dancing. I had enough. I left and hopped in the coach while waiting for the rest to arrive.

  3. Oh the Thai script kinda looks like Tamil/Malayalam script. Love the pristine shot with the cottage and greens as the background and the amazing fountain at the center.
Self-explanatory clicks, well documented, could really get a glimpse of the culture.
    Rose flower garden looks beautiful.
I had been to Thailand and stayed there only for 2 days, we were only taken to do some gold shopping and to malls..we were told the crime rate in Thailand is high, hence did not spend a lot of time there, moved to Singapore and spent about a week around Serangoon area.

  11. Nice! Have you been to the Siam Niramit in Bangkok? That has some spectacular shows running for 90 minutes. Huge stage and pretty big seating capacity - has to be, they need that kind of space for real elephants too (it is Thailand, after all!).

I went to see the Siam Niramit show only once 3 years back ... felt it is a little expensive, but getting a ticket from agents works out better.
