Honestly, to tell you the honest truth, bread or burgers for the matter have never been my kind of food. Its just not me. Wonder why actually, sometimes I ask myself why. Nevertheless, being married to someone who enjoy a bread meal, I do of course accommodate. I do (
Dory Fish Sandwich,
Mint Mushroom Burger &
Malaysian Egg Benedict). Actually, you know what? Admittedly, preparing a bread meal I think is less complicated (
Mushroom Soup & Garlic Toast) compared to our standard Malaysian rice meal. Indeed it is, then again, how can typical Malaysians like us give up eating rice (
Kerabu Mangga/Mango Salad,
Curried Potatoes &
Mutton Curry With Cumin Rice) or noodles (
Instant Assam Laksa). Anyway, after a while, I actually made this Grilled Tuna Burger (
Fried Tuna Cutlet &
Fried Mushroom Rolls). Grilled (
Curry Leaves Grilled Salmon &
Grilled Unagi) mint scented tuna patties, fresh vegetables and sauces filled into toasted bread slices, which I believe can be paired alongside
Watermelon Mint Salad and
Rosemary Cheesy Potatoes.
Ingredients (makes two patties)
I small can of tuna - drain off the water/oil
3-4 sprigs of mint leaves - chop the leaves.
1 egg
1 tsp cornflour
Pepper and salt to taste
Oil (if needed for frying/grilling)
Buns or bread slices - grilled or toasted
Salad leaves
Cucumber slices
Chilli sauce
Yellow mustard sauce
Method
Combine the ingredients for the tuna (except oil) and shape into flat patties.
Pan fry or grill the patties.
Place patties on bun/bread, top with cucumber and salad leaves.
Drizzle sauce and another slice of bread on top.
