Cicerellos - Fremantle (Australia)

So we arrived at Fremantle on this Sunday. visited the Maritime Shipwreck Museum and as per the general consensus, lunch had to be at Cicerellos. Before anything else, we quickly secured the one and only empty table facing the harbour in the carnival like atmosphere and then stood in the long queue which spilled till the entrance to opt between the line of food and drinks or from the wall menu. After paying, carefully balancing the tray, we returned to the table.

The cappuccino, cold coleslaw and fries I had were basically akin from other eateries, whereas the friends tucked into the fish and chips, seafood platter and batter fried squids. Fish and chips - a huge piece of freshly grilled fish and paired with French fries, fresh salad and mayonnaise.

The seafood platter -  batter fried fish, prawns and squids, fries and coleslaw, whereas the batter fried squids and fries were pretty much cooked in the same manner.

Cicerellos is truly popular for their fresh seafood, portions are big, rather pricey and not my kind of food. However, the friends loved the food but they struggled with the portions, so the balance was packed back.

  1. That's a nice view to see ! It happens sometime we'd thought to use the food left in restaurants but seriously it's a total wastage , as it would all goes in the bin!
Nevertheless it's a nice review to read.

  3. Nice to know about your dining experience. I am not a great fan of these fried food Nava. Once in a while I am fine but to eat fish & chips for meal is a complete no no..:) We Indians like some spices, masala chatpaata. BTW these days when i go to mcd I pack the fries & bake it for 5 mins at home. It turns out very good like crispy chips.

  11. Oh that is one big sized french fry for sure! The fires would have sucked in a hell lot of oil!
Coffee is my favorite to anytime I'm out, I take Latte instead of Cappuccino.
I actually thought the squid rings to be onion rings before reading :-)
Oh the legendary fish & fries, they look super fresh. - I saw them being made in Australian Master Chef long back!
The last shot is beautiful, serene.

  13. Love fish and chips any day! But I actually check with the restaurant if the chips can be swapped for something else. I make the fish frequently at home too with a salad...the calories are way too much. Lovely visuals Nava and the locale is great too!
