Brotzeit Bier Bar & Restaurant (Sunway Pyramid)

What you see "may-may" be what you get and certainly, what we read about Brotzeit was not what we expected. I'll tell you why. The welcoming in this classy and woody German bar-cum-restaurant was heart melting, the ordering so simple but the serving we waited and waited while wondering why others who ordered after us were happily eating and we were pathetically hungry. Drinks of course arrived on roller blades but the main, pork knuckles?? I don't know and despite waving at the staff, none would come close or explain what was going on. Finally, I had to slightly raise my voice and then we were told the knuckles will take an hour. Okay, our fault. We overlooked it in the menu but really, why did the staff hesitate to tell??  Seriously, again, I don't know.

Anyway, to calm us down, came the complimentary fries with three types of dips. We gawked the thick potato bacons, polished off every bit and sipped the cranberry juice and grapefruit juice.

An hour and arrived the huge portion of pork knuckles with soft-mushy, slightly tangy cabbage and potato salad. Crispy skin on the outside and tender meat inside, the quite nice knuckles we ate a bit whereas the cabbage and potato salad polished off.

The balance of the knuckles we packed back and another surprise complimentary from the house - the awesomely melt-in-the-mouth chocolate mousse.

Despite having to wait, in the end, we walked out as happy customers after thanking the staff.

  4. What a name "pork knuckles"!! Interesting. And the huge portions of it - looked rich and yummy, the pork portion looked tender too!
Choco Mousse looks delicious and creamy!
When we go to a restaurant all we expect is a decent ambiance, quality and yes, prompt service - so when they fail to be prompt, it is thoughtful of them to come up with complimentary food(Haa, understood the value of camera, LOL)! Also nice clicks!

  8. oh...I hated for a long wait for food especially not being informed. But at least, they tried to make things up by offering fries and desserts afterwards. :) I would go straight for the crispy skin on the knuckles too. :P
