Ixora Hotel - Prai, Penang (Part 1)

Upon arrival at Penang, we dined at Kayu Nasi Kandar and then to Ixora Hotel. Ixora is the latest addition to the list of existing hotels in Prai, raved and booked by the Penang cousin. Exclusive, stylish and shiny is the entrance as well as the reception area, not surprising and certainly it should be. I mean a new hotel will always shine and lets hope down the road or perhaps if at all I return again in the near future, hopefully will still be well maintained.

Customer service on the other hand wasn't like the smiling smiley on facebook but attentive I would say. 10 minutes at the reception before collecting the smart card and here we were at the room. Only a pass, I wasn't all that impressed. My taste is bright vibrant deco and this one - white finishing, dark furnishing and fittings and amenities similar as with other hotels. As for cleanliness, definitely high marks - clean bedsheets, bathroom and floor. In fact truly a clean room, the wifi for the time being, I can't speak about since I was too tired and wanted to hit the bed soonest after showering.

The two single beds I couldn't understand - maybe a mistake while the cousin booked or the staff didn't want us to sleep together. Whatever, the beds were joined together before cuddling up to call it a night.

Next change - breakfast at Ixora Hotel.

  7. The second shot tells it all, just a clean and no nonsense hotel room. Looks quite adequate and just right. Love the red wood work. The newly built hotels are always good with clean rooms, courteous staffs.
Can't wait to see the buffet breakfast!!
