Station One Leisure Cafe - USJ 10 (Subang Jaya)

Back in Taipan (Restaurant Makbul, Victoria StationAh KoongKayu Nasi Kandar. & Restaurant Murni) for settling some errands, I as usual love the fact to a meal, sometimes, actually, most of the time on my own. So, here I was in  Station One Leisure Cafe. A corner lot spacious eatery, strategically located at the visibility of whoever who walk or drive pass the ever busy Taipan inner road, and impressive inside and out dining area. But parking in Taipan, as you know or don't is hell. There is a open air car park across McDonalds if you don't mind paying, otherwise, make your rounds before spotting or fighting for a spot.  Despite being literally empty once I walked in and sat at the outside dining area, service was pretty slow. In fact, only after I waved and called a couple of times, I was attended to. Instead of flipping their menu which features mostly local dishes, I opted for set lunch @ RM10.90 (inclusive of 10% service tax). Assam boi lime was served within seconds, this drink was so good for its sweet sour tang-zang burst, especially when sun is massively killing our throat.

Thereafter, to my surprise, service picked up instantly, within the next 5 minutes, came the appetizer, vegetable soup, chicken bolognese and rice. Appetizer consisted of two types of fresh raw salad. Julienne cabbage and carrot, sort of a coleslaw and achar/pickled diced carrot and carrots. Simply prepared, these were really appetizing for kick staring my meal.
Tomato flavoured soup with bitsy of radish and carrot, garnished with spring onion, was slightly cold but pleasantly tasty.  As for the chicken bolognese, the dark onion sauce drenched with chicken pieces was a little salty but when eaten with the brown rice paired with leafy green veggies, I shouldn't complain. For a spicy kick, I requested for birds eye chillies in soy sauce.

This lunch no doubt was value for money. Station One Leisure Cafe certainly is the eatery for a reasonably priced set meal.

  1. Haa, that is a right amount of spread. Not too much of choice, but just right. Good one.
Loved the drink in the 'jar', I think it is quite common in those areas. In fact a lavish drink, looks huge. Salad is always a welcome entrée, no matter what the combination is, it kinda works out well with the rest of the dish. Although I would like sprouts on the veggies to add up the zest. Chicken bolognese looks yum and fresh.
