Watermelon Mint Savory Salad

Watermelon for a savoury salad? Well, well, why not. Why not something different instead of the usual vegetable raw salad. Actually making a salad wasn't why I bought the fruit. Just like that, I craved for a few slices. At the mini market, I tried to buy the smallest  watermelon. Then again how small can the fruit be? The least is a medium size heavy ball. We eat half and the balance, into the fridge. But can't possibly remain fresh even for the next two days. So I had to decide. Make the Watermelon Sorbet again or perhaps a savoury dish.
While its impossible to make a curry, the effortless has to be salad. One which is invigoratingly fresh, crunchy and savoury. This is it - watermelon salad with the ingredients listed below.

300g water melon - cut into small cubes
1/4 cucumber - remove seeds and cut into small cubes
4-5 sprigs of mint leaves - lightly shredded/crushed
3-4 shallots - sliced thinly
1 green chilli - sliced thinly
1-2 red/birds eye chilies - sliced thinly
1 1/2 tsp lime juice
1 tsp sugar
Salt for taste
Toss all the ingredients together before serving.
(Note:  Omit sugar if melon is sweet enough).
