El Toro Butchery & Grill - Subang Avenue (Subang Jaya)

Upon suggestion by my lunch partner Vanessa, we made our way to El Toro. To avoid the lunch time   crowd, we arrived early, at 11.30am. The restaurant was not open.  We were not in a rush so we decided to wait.  We had a drink in Old Town Coffee, situated next door. As we chatted, we tturned back and noticed that the restaurant was ready to welcome customers.  We were the first two customers to walk in.

The restaurant is well known for their steaks and if you are not sure on which type of  steak to choose,   the  parts of the cow illustrated on a board will guide you.
Since I don't eat beef, I tried to convince Vanessa to order the Black Angus Promotion
or Wahyu beef but she would not. She was not in the mood for beef and preferred the Pan Fried Salmon in Teriyaki Sauce.
I pinched a small piece of the salmon and both of us agreed that it was worth the order. The fish  had a brown crusty layer and a luscious flaky internal layer. It was served with mashed potatoes and rosemary flavored brown sauce and crispy salad with a generous sprinkling of cheese.

Mine was the lamb chops, served with the same type of mashed potatoes and salad.
I am not over-exaggerating but the chops were succulent with an even distribution of fats. I wanted assurance on the taste and Vanessa had a piece. She couldn't agree more on the taste of  the soft tender lamb meat. I finished everything on my plate and still had  space for  dessert. Vanessa put a full stop to food and I went for the panna cotta.
For someone who occasionally has desserts, I loved the panna cotta served with whipped cream and colored sugar sprinkles. The silky and creamy custard crumbled instantly in my mouth and I did not leave any bit behind.  We also made the right choice of ordering peach tea to compliment the food we had.

Vanessa insisted that it's her treat and settled the bill for RM96.10. I was feeling guilty and tried to pursuade her to split the bill but she refused till the end. As we walked back to our car, we made plans for another round of lunch together and I am the one who is going to pay for it.
