Are you geared up for the opening ceremony of the Olympics 2012???? I most certainly am but wonder whether I can stay awake until 4am, our local time for the live coverage on the opening ceremony. Of course there will recaps along the week on the opening ceremony but nothing like joining the rest of the world in enjoying the moments and everything that has been lined up.
From now and until the Olympics is over, I will be glued to the TV watching some of my favorite games --- the gymnastics, swimming, synchronized swimming, athletics and weightlifting. The rest of the games do not interest me much but if I want to know the latest, I have my other half to update me on badminton, football, volleyball etc etc. As for the opening ceremony tonight, I want to go with the flow, I mean feel a bit relaxed (only a bit) with a lovely drink in hand.
What can it be than a glass of grapefruit sangria for the ready, steady, go feeling!!!! Sangria is a wine punch or fruity cocktail and you can make sangria as per your liking, with fruits, liquor, with or without sugar and dash, dash, dash. I have made my version which is sitting in the fridge and all I need to do is add some ice cubes before getting cozy for the opening ceremony. There are no exact measurements for the ingredients and go with the flow, whichever you like more or less.

ReplyDeleteI should have checked your post before watching Opening Ceremony. It looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely a yummy drink! I normally finely chop up some random fruits and add into the sangria mix. An all time fave is actually to blend them all up for an icy cold sangria smoothie (with lots of fruits).
