AnJ's Western Cuisine - Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam

Restaurants have mushroomed in Kota Kemuning's many distinctive neighborhoods in recent years. Whenever we drive around this area, we are bound to discover eateries we have not tried before.  As we drove through the same road where Padi and Prada is situated, Anj's signboard drew our attention. We walked into the restaurant and the owner was someone we knew. He used to manage Padi and Prada with his wife and now he is the owner of this Western cuisine restaurant.

The owner and also our server helped us with our main courses. As for the drinks, we chose amra  asam boi juice and a mug of beer.

Within minutes, the bread and starter of mushroom soup were served. When we sipped the thick creamy soup with chunks of mushrooms, we knew its the fresh home made version. Whether by its own or with bits of bun dipped inside, the taste was fabulous.
The lamb shank, two large, fork tendered meat in a tomato onion sauce was accompanied with pieces of steamed broccoli.
We were fine with the taste but somehow the flavors did not click together.  I think because we are so used to spicy food, we found the sauce to be quite bland.
The mix platter consisted of a medium chunk of chicken, bacon topped with cheese, a piece of sausage, fried fries and some boiled veges, like carrots, mushroom and cauliflower, served with black pepper sauce. All was just ok, nothing special or out of the ordinary.

Anyway, I think the price was reasonable, we paid about RM60.00. Of course, the service was great and the owner was extremely nice to us.  If we do dine again at this restaurant situated at

12, Jalan Anggerik Vanilla Y/31Y
Kota Kemuning
Shah Alam
Tel:  03-51312811

we probably will follow our instincts in selection the main courses rather than going along with the owner's suggestions  or we should stick with the spicy food served in Padi and Prada.

I'm trying to slow down my posts, too...summer is so hard with vacations and distractions and I just can't visit all my blogger friends like I used to. Glad you're finding a way to balance life and blogging to prevent getting stressed out :)
