Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil

(sample - not the actual 450ml bottle)

When it comes to skin care, the practically is to buy products we can afford instead of getting carried away with expensive products. Having said that, as much as I like to deny, I admit that the couple of dollars products I used 10 years ago does not work anymore for my skin. Well, in my late forties, a couple of things has changed physically. Admittedly, my biological clock has stopped ticking 4 years back and has taken a toll on my skin. Lacking in hydration, I now need a cleanser which does not strip the little oil on my face.

Also, because life has pretty much settled down financially, the Shu Uemura skin purifier cleansing oil which once I can only dream of I purchased  -
Evolved from the original Shu Uemura cleansing oil.
Reformulated with an advance high performance cleansing oil system to significantly improved re-movability of waterproof make-up.
Light and rich textured oil, formulated with rosemary based herbal aroma which invigorates to feel refreshed and energized.

Since I have never used any kind of cleansing oil before, it took some time to figure out how to use. To apply, I pump a few drops on my palm, rub with both palms and gently message all over the face to loosen up all traces of make-up. Then, I wet my palms, message again to emulsify the oil and rinse/wash before patting dry my skin. Two months after using, my combination skin is receptive to the oil to retain the natural lubricant and to freshen up. My skin is definitely glowing with hydration and fine lines are less visible.
The oil (450ml) lasted for approximately one year and instead of buying the same one, the beauty consultant recommended the "cleansing beauty oil premium a/o advanced formula" -
Top selling oil in the world
New advanced formula empowered with green tea and ginkgo leaf extract for their strong anti-oxidant and micro circulation properties.
Boosts skin's transparency and radiance.
Slows down ageing process.
To revitalize, plump and refine skin.
(sample)

What I like the most about this oil is its wonderful smell and texture though the benefit is more or less for clear radiance skin. This 450ml bottle also lasted for around 1 years and the next purchase was the "whitefficient clear brightening gentle" cleansing oil for removing melanin-filled dead cells to brighten dull skin complexion, fortified with the ultimate removal system and contains an innovative combination of Mito-White Complex and vitamin C.

Instead of buying the 450ml bottle I started with the 150ml. As usual, I used twice a day.  Honestly, I didn't closely monitor whether this oil brightened my skin. But for a fact it worked just like the other two types while I still prefer the green tea and ginkgo extract oil.
Now that I have been using the Shu Uemura cleansing oil for more than three years, maybe its time to change to a cheaper cleansing oil to find out its suitability.

  9. My mother used to always use Shu Uemura when I was a kid. I thought it was so fancy and I would put on her clay face mask and watch my entire face turn a pale green when it dried. Mind you I was a child with no need to use this but it was fun. :) I know they make nice products but as an adult I have very sensitive skin and I have read lots of great things about cleansing oils but I am apprehensive to try them. I am glad you are liking them and haven't had any issues with the products.
