Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil

(sample - not the actual 450ml bottle)

When it comes to skin care, the practically is buying products we can afford instead of getting carried away with anything else. Price I believe is the biggest push-pull pocket factor. Undeniably. Money matters most. It is still the biggest dilemma till this day for me, but worst it was those years. I can still recall buying a RM10.00 product, which back then mattered hell of a lot. But, I still bought, a cleanser is a must for me. We all need a cleanser by the way. Yes, hei, we do. Those affordable cleansers did keep my skin happy. I won't deny. But over the years and now that I am in my mid forties, sadly, I can't promote those cleansers. Basically because of a couple of things. Like? Age (Hylexin Dark Circles Eye Cream), more stress and more hectic lifestyle, also, biological stock which has stopped ticking has taken a toll on my skin. It will, mind you. Dehydrated and lacking in moisture ultimately became my concern.

Over the years thereafter, because my financial fore-front became stable, I won't say really sunshiny, but I can afford. What I could only dream of I actually bought. Beauty and lifestyle magazines won't stop harping on Shu Uemura Cleansing oils, hack, I finally bought this Shu Uemura Skin Purifier Cleansing Oil. Dream do come true, it does right? Of course, dream to expensive beauty however can only be attained if we have dollar and cents.

Shu Uemura Skin Purifier Cleansing Oil
Evolved from the original Shu Uemura cleansing oil.
Reformulated with an advance high performance cleansing oil system to significantly improved re-movability of waterproof make-up.
Light and rich textured oil, formulated with rosemary based herbal aroma which invigorates to feel refreshed and energized.

Since I have never used any kind of cleansing oil before, it took a while to figure out how to use. Not a big deal anyway. When you pay big money, beauty consultants won' hesitate in explaining over and over again. Anyway, this is how it is with Shu Uemura Skin Purifier Cleansing Oil. Pump a few drops on your palm, rub with both palms and gently message all over your face to loosen up all traces of make-up. Don't forget to pay specific attention to your eyes if eyes are done up. Thereafter, wet your palms, message again to emulsify oil, next, rinse/wash off, prior to patting skin dry.
Having used it for the last two months, let me now tell you whether its a love or hate relationship with Shu Uemura Skin Purifier Cleansing Oil (450ml) -

Can last for a year since I use only once a day. Logical then, if you use twice a day, it will be halted to 6 months.
It did hydrate my skin. It didn't dry me out. It does a good job for thoroughly removing whatever I have applied for the day.
It does not leave behind any residue.
However, unfortunately, I struggled to remove my mascara and eye liner. Therefore, I either before hand use olive oil dapped on cotton pad as step one and then, go over with this cleansing oil.
Shu Uemura Skin Purifier Cleansing Oil also breaks me up if I use twice a day. Not in the sense of literally major big balls of fire, most probably would have if I didn't put a stop to twice a day. I had to. I started noticing tiny spots which I believe were oil pops. But those spots and pops slowly disappeared once Shu Uemura Skin Purifier Cleansing Oil (450ml), as I have already said, became my once a day use.

Regardless, I am still satisfied. I like it. I am impressed. So, even before a  year, I returned to Shu Uemura Empire Subang and this time I settled for "Shu Uemura Premium A/O Advanced Formula Cleansing Oil" -

Top selling oil in the world.
New advanced formula empowered with green tea and ginkgo leaf extract for their strong anti-oxidant and micro circulation properties.
Boosts skin's transparency and radiance.
Slows down ageing process.
To revitalize, plump and refine skin.

Any difference compared to Shu Uemura Skin Purifier Cleansing Oil? What I like the most about Shu Uemura Premium A/O Advanced Formula Cleansing Oil is its scent. Not really green tea, but refreshing. I can't really figure out how should the scent be described, I vouch its nice. Benefit wise, give in and take, about the same to the previous cleansing oil. Nothing utterly shattering good on my skin and lasted for pretty much a year too (450ml). Two years already with Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil, I then bought "Whitefficient Clear Brightening Gentle" Cleansing Oil".

Whitefficient Clear Brightening Gentle" Cleansing Oil.
For removing melanin-filled dead cells to brighten dull skin complexion, fortified with the ultimate removal system and contains an innovative combination of Mito-White Complex and vitamin C.

Instead of getting the 450ml bottle, I settled for 150ml. Back to using, still once a day.  Honestly, I didn't closely monitor whether this oil brightened my skin. But for a fact it worked just like the other two Cleansing Oils, and for whatever reason I can't conclude, my heart is with Shu Uemura Premium A/O Advanced Formula Cleansing Oil. Maybe, just saying, could be the scent.

  9. My mother used to always use Shu Uemura when I was a kid. I thought it was so fancy and I would put on her clay face mask and watch my entire face turn a pale green when it dried. Mind you I was a child with no need to use this but it was fun. :) I know they make nice products but as an adult I have very sensitive skin and I have read lots of great things about cleansing oils but I am apprehensive to try them. I am glad you are liking them and haven't had any issues with the products.
