Chi Spa - Shangri La's Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa (Penang, Malaysia)

From the hotel, I walked to chi spa - a cozy, comfortable woody-rustic big hut situated at a secluded corner and against the backdrop of lushes tropical greenery. Walking into the spa, I knew its going be a wonderful-amazing pampering session, well - service was excellently utmost tip-top as the staff at once smiled and greeted me as I sat at the equally spectacular traditional reception area.

As I sipped the herbal tea, the spa consultant came over to firstly explained the meaning of "Chi" and "Ying and Yang". To a certain extent, I understood what she said, but beyond that, only so much I understood about the concept of Chinese philosophy and health. Nevertheless, at the end of the session, I was thankful because I was told that I am perfectly normal and my health is good. Happiness indeed!

Next, I was ushered to the treatment room for "Rasa Asmaradan" and the "Lotus and Milk Indulgence" packages.

I put my things in the locker, removed my clothes and wrapped my naked body with a towel. Of course the therapist was not there in the room.
She came back after I sat down on the bed. Foot treatment was the first. My legs soaked in warm water, scrubbed and wiped.
For the beauty bath, I came out to the open garden and sat in the bathtub filled with rose petals and milk. I was left alone for the next 20 minutes to luxuriate, unwind and relax - oh, what a feeling, my head tilted high up to the sky while my body soaking with water gushing from each corner of the round-rock-solid bath tub..

As much I wanted to remain in the bathtub, the therapist returned. In fact jokingly I asked her if I can forgo the massage and continue with the milk bath. She smiled and did I have any choice but to get ready after showering, wiping my body and there I was. On the bed for her to lightly press my neck and shoulders with a pouch bundled up with a concoction of local herbs. Ohhh!! Really felt so good.

The last treatment was the massage. My body smothered with nutmeg-sandalwood oil, subsequently a a good solid 1 hour massage. Over and done,  I got dressed and returned to the reception to settle my bill for RM514.00.

Now, similar to the Jentayu Spa and Chakras Spa, Chi Spa (Face Factors Clinic and Tanjung Wellness Spa) will also be remembered as one of the best - professional staff who treated me like a queen in the most spectacular ambience as though in a private island.

Thumbs up to the team of Chi Spa. I will certainly return again when my other half feels that I deserve another round of pampering.
