Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa (Penang, Malaysia) - Foot Reflexology

A great start for the day with the sumptuous buffet breakfast at Spice Market Cafe, I then returned to the room whereas my other half left for his appointment. But within the next hour after standing at the balcony and watching the fun at the beach and pool area, I was certainly bored. So, I called the hotel, fixed an appointment for the foot reflexology and there I was sitting across the beach while the masseur wiped both my feet right up to the knee.

As I slowly got comfortable. he applied massage oil and started massaging. Certainly relaxing, I should have or I could have close my eyes but no. Instead I started talking with masseur and we sure yapped-yapped at great length about all sorts of things, including our own colorful life experiences. Interesting it was to know about the masseur and his motto in life "I don't want to be couch potato and live on handouts of my grown up children, As long as I can stand on my own two feet, I can earn. I work on part time basis to also occupy my time. This job keeps my going and I sure get to meet people from all walks of life"

Well, I was so engrossed with listening I didn't realise the 45 minutes was up. Finally the masseur wiped of the oil from my feet and legs, I paid RM90.00 and thanked him before going back to the room. This foot reflexology certainly was good and one up to the masseur for the professional service.

  7. First thing, I love Shangri-La Hotels! And feet massages? My favourite kind! We have reflexology here and they're light feathery touches on the feet - completely useless! The best reflexology I ever had was in KL by a Chinese guy, it was painful but so good!
