Restaurant Makbul Nasi Kandar - (Taipan, Subang Jaya)

Here we were - back in Taipan but earlier than before, also to sort out some pending things. We achieved our mission for the day and walked up to this restaurant, another which is like a permanent landmark in the area. We had a choice - to start our late morning with a light breakfast or a filling rice meal with the  nasi kandar dishes - making their way from the kitchen to the shelf.

Since we were the early birds to queue up for the rice meal, we had the privilege of not being shoved neither pressured by other hungry customers or the staff to quickly decide on what to point at. We chose the dishes for our rice and carried the plates over to the empty table. The waiter also came by and we ordered - sky juice for my other half and a hot piping glass of teh tarik for me.

My other half was trigger happy with the curried fish - a soft fresh piece with tender meat with the spicy curry. Equally fresh was the simply fried cabbage; crunchy with a nice aroma from the curry leaves.
My plate was stuffed up - beriyani rice with lamb intestine curry, long beans stir fried with coconut and carrot, ikan bilis/anchovies sambal/gravy and generous scoops of a few types of curries.
The small pieces of lamb intestines were nicely tender to the bite, and while I generally prefer spicy curries, it was almost impossible not to be tempted by rice with the mild but rich curry. But when eaten with the ikan bilis sambal and the two types of veggies, the different elements went well together. However one thing was obvious. I took more than enough that I almost drop dead to finish off my meal. We rested for a while to digest our food and slowly walked out after paying about RM21.60 at  this eatery situated at:

12-1, USJ9/5R
Subang Business Center
