Having said that, I'm staying true to a dessert today, aha! don't assume desserts must always be baked (Marble Cake, Coca Cola Cake & Nescafe Custard Cake). Nang-no! Take these fried apple fritters instead. Apple dipped in a flour egg batter and fried, soft gooey apple cased in puffed up batter. Sugarless batter, so I dusted some icing sugar over the fritters for tad bit of sweetness. Enjoy these fritters while they are still warm, otherwise, you will be sinking your teeth into soggy sunk batter.
4 firm Granny apples - peeled, cored and cut each apple into 8 pieces.
3 tbsp caster sugar
Oil for frying
For the batter
1 cup cake flour
1/2 cup cold water
1 egg - lightly beaten
A pinch of salt
Sift flour into a mixing bowl.
Slowly add cold water and stir for a smooth batter.
Add beaten egg and salt; blend well.
Heat oil and dip apple pieces in it.
Deep fry in heated oil until golden brown.
Remove, dust caster sugar over and serve warm.
