Thai Thai Restaurant ( Sunway Pyramid)

Sunway Pyramid I won't say is my favorite shopping mall. Because of its location close to where I work, I am here perhaps every three to four months once. Sometimes for shopping whereas other times to meet friends and tuck into a meal, generally for lunch. A number of the eateries at this mall I have already tried but Thai Thai never before. Friends agreed and since I quite like Thai food, why not especially before swamped in by the lunch time crowd.  Quite pretty and elegant and as the name implies, Thai indeed the deco in the spacious dining area.

The friends were not a bit concern about the food. I mean they actually trusted my instincts. So I was the hero who ordered the tom yam seafood, stir-fried bean curd, mango salad and Thai fish sambal. Service quite prompt. Well, just with only us, it should be and the dishes arrived one after the other with the white rice. First the stir-fried tofu - soft tofu with that bit of soy gravy, chillies and herbs. Okay, pass given.
We then tasted the kerabu mango paired with the thick crispy fritter. Oh well, quite a let down we thought. Not enough dressing and dry, as though eating just thinly sliced mango with onion, coriander leaves, some fried dried prawns and chillies. The fritters we couldn't figure out what to do, Maybe to crack and mix with the salad. We did taste but what's there to say when it was a plain boring Jane. Nope! not recommended as per say.
The tom yam seafood? lalala!!! perfect, spicy and authentic. The broth for the typical Thai flavours and seafood cooked just so right without being rubbery. This Thai soup, you should order.

The fish in Thai sauce I completely forgot to snap-snap. That fish dish wasn't too bad - fresh fried fish drowned in a flavoured sauce, another maybe you would like to try. The drinks - water melon juice and fresh coconut, okay-okay to mellow the spiciness of tom yam and for the hot weather.

RM107.25 (inclusive of 4 drinks) for four of us, what say you?? Thai-Thai going by the standard of good food, I won't raved but pretty decent meal in a nice ambiance.

  1. even though it looks nice, it is still quite expensive ooo~

  2. I love kerabu mango. Maybe they put in a bwl instead of plate, hence you cant taste much of the sauce?

  3. Everything looks amazing! The stir fried bean curd = oh, I would LOVE that!

  4. Thank you for all the comments everyone.
Expensive it was but worth paying except for the kerabu. It was packed with many customers even after the normal lunch time.

  5. The Tomyam looked authentic enough. Some places I visited served Red coloured tomyam! Wl look this place up when I next visit Sunway Pyramid! TQ for sharing.

  6. The tomyam was simply delicious, all of us enjoyed this the most.
