I can only think of a couple of reasons why I would hang out in this community mall called Wangsa Walk in Section 5 Wangsa Maju. One, there is a TGV cinema inside and two maybe, I go there for Popeye's or TGIF. Anyway, last weekend I was there to watch a movie. Feeling hungry and lonely while waiting for a friend to arrive. I went into the nearest eating outlet to grab a bite.
Modeled similar to other kopitiams such as Old Town and Pappa Rich, Heritage House has a nicer décor and ambience about it. I went over the menu and the items were also similar and they also offer dishes for sharing. Since I was alone I opted for the two safest items, which are the Nasi Lemak Rendang Ayam and ABC.
The nasi lemak came quickly and was piping hot. The serving is rather large with lots of things inside. Apart from the chicken, it has dried prawn sambal, fried ikan bilis, nuts, cucumber and half a boiled egg. I found the rendang to be watery, unlike the thick variety that most are accustomed to. However taste-wise it was ok. I liked the sambal better as it had more oomph to it. The rest of the items are rather run of the mill.
My drink came rather late so I guess preparing ABC does take some time. I wished they would give me an option on the ice-cream because strawberry just isn't my favourite. Anyway since the shaved ice was packed so tight, it was difficult to dig in without toppling the entire structure. After all, the good stuff is right at the bottom. Overall the ABC tasted ok. But really, can you go wrong?
Although I won't drop by here much since the food isn't earth-shatteringly good. But looking at the lukewarm business, I doubt this place would survive longer than two years.
