Tomato Rice

Your love, my love and our love rice is  back today. Maybe I shouldn't assume that every Malaysian love rice, but if you do, I'll happily include you in my political party. The rice political party. Did I for once get you panicky with politics? Oh, it exists. Politics exist at home, at work place and in the real politics. Welcome to the real world followers of nava-k. I've had my massive share of politics, but we shall not touch on that context today. Maybe, we'll meet soon to speak in great length on politics, right now, its the rice love (cumin ricekampung fried ricebelacan fried rice and Chinese fried rice). Tomato rice is elevated with obviously tomato, then ginger, shallots and garam masala.

Ingredients
2 cups rice - wash and drain off excess water
2 (abt 230g) tomato - sliced thinly
6 shallots - sliced
1 inch ginger - sliced
1/4 tsp garam masala/all spice powder
3 tbsp oil
Salt to taste
Water as needed

Method
When oil is heated, saute the shallots, tomatoes and ginger.
Add in the rice, garam masala and salt.
Fry for another 3-4 mins and then tip rice mixture into rice cooker.
Pour water as needed (generally 3 cups for 2 cups of rice) and let it cook.
Once cooked, fluff up.
Don't forget to trend alongside "cook with nava-k" on every other social media please!!

  7. I love experimenting with rice as well as sometimes it gets boring as you had said. This looks like a good pair with grilled meats.
