Kissaten Coffee & Restaurant Revisited (Jaya One, PJ)

I passed by this place several times and am always attracted by its clean design and varied menu. In fact, I  have tried KISSATEN a couple of times. The menu has a mix of Japanese, Chinese and Western cuisines. You'll find grilled fish, sashimi, noodles, burger, rice and various beverages including coffees, smoothies and alcoholic drinks.

The lunch crowd is quite heavy so it might be better to avoid the peak hours. I opted for a lunch set which comes with a mix of items. The Fried Oyster set comes with a dipping sauce that went well with the bowl of rice provided. I felt the medium-sized oysters weren't overly fresh and the breaded coating was tad thick.
True to its mixed menu, the set also comes with a chawan mushi (Japanese steamed egg) and miso soup. The egg was nothing to shout about but I quite liked the miso soup. It had a full body of flavour and generous amounts of seaweed. I also had some Japanese-style pickled radish.

To quench my thirst the set also provided endless refill of green tea. It wasn't my favourite at all as it was very bitter.
The bill came up to over RM30 inclusive of service charge. It is pricey but I won't mind coming back again to try out other orders from the menu.
