(Up in the air: Virgin Atlantic's flight attendants have been voted the most attractive in a new survey of travellers).
We couldn’t wait to share with you the red hot news on Daily Mail UK: The sexy advertisement shows they are more than just your run-of-the-mill trolley dollies, with their tight red uniforms, long legs and perfect smiles. And it seems the world agrees as Virgin Atlantic's flight attendants have been voted the most attractive in a new survey of travellers.
Sky style: The results are primarily thanks to the new Bond-style ad campaign, which features lots of attractive male and female crew and plenty of subtle innuendos
Still red hot: A 2009 advert, set in the Eighties, insists that Virgin's cabin crew are still as beautiful as they have always been.
In fact Virgin's 'red hotties' swept the board with a massive 53 per cent of the vote with no other airline's cabin crew even coming a close second. The accolade has been attributed to their sexually charged global advertising campaign, which features Bond-style graphics, suggestive images, lots of attractive male and female crew and plenty of subtle innuendos.
Red Hotties: Virgin Atlantic crew, pictured with founder Richard Branson, centre, have been voted most attractive in the world, due in part to the sexy ad campaign
Runner-up: The top ten was dominated by mainly Asian and Arabic airlines with Singapore Airlines, left, coming second and Lufthansa coming in at sixth.
Conservative: Emirates cabin crew are known for their distinctive uniform featuring the red cap with white kerchief draping across the body.
TOP TEN CABIN CREWS
1. Virgin Atlantic
2. Singapore Airlines
5. Aer Lingus
7. Cathay Pacific
Sir Richard Branson has always stressed the importance of the appearance of his crew believing it is vital for customers to have an enjoyable and memorable flight. On their cabin crew recruitment page it states: 'You'll be the face of the airline. As such, your grooming should always be immaculate - even after a long, tiring flight.'
According to the survey of 1,000 people by the Business Travel and Meetings Show - BTMS - Singapore Airlines received only 18 per cent of the vote at second place, despite repeatedly being named the best cabin crew in the world. In third place, with 12 per cent, was Arabic airline Etihad's who just scraped ahead of the more popular Emirates crew. With their conservative beige and red uniform and striking red lipstick they came in fourth at 11 per cent, followed by Aer Lingus with six per cent.
