Pak Hailam Kopitiam (Carrefour - Bukit Rimau, Shah Alam)

Carrefour (now known as Aeon), a drive away from where I am and the the place for grocery shopping. However seldom a meal because after shopping, home sweet home. So happened it rained dogs and cats and that I have parked in front of the mall, Pak Hailam came calling, a comfortable ambiance similar to other kopitiams and plenty to chose from the menu.

I ordered the assam laksa, bean sprouts soy sauce and  ice blended green beans and these came at one go. First I sampled the asam laksa -  laksa noodles in thick fishy spicy broth, mint leaves, chillies, pineapple, onion and a good scoop of otak-otak (shrimp paste). Flavourful and spicy, I still requested for extra chillies. The broth slurped till the last drop whereas the noodles only half a portion.
Next the bean sprouts - fresh crunchy sprouts, atop with fried shallots and spring onion and in light soy sauce. Nothing loud the flavours, a delicious dish and a hearty portion for one person.
The ice blended green beans just so good as a smooth thick smoothie without too much of sugar.
Well, not too bad a meal (RM17.10) and I won''t mind returning again.
