Restoran Logenhaus - Roast & Grill

Nothing venture nothing gained. Supposedly that's how it is because as an adventurous foodie, you must venture into trying different types of food to gain the dining experience. I for once don't particularly prefer Western food but I don't mind trying. Whether I appreciate or not, that's besides the other point of being grateful for I can afford. So here we were at Logenhaus which has faithfully been at Taipan for many years.

The half-half who entertain clients quite often is well versed with the menu while this is my first time. And based on his observation, this restaurant draws plenty of customers for their Western fare. Steaks above all, the number one favourite but beef we don't eat. So, we called for lamb shank and according to half-half, even both of us may struggle to finish up the big portion. We also called for half a dozen of baked oysters, baked potato and for drinks, Hoegaarden beer.

The basket of garlic bread and the beer arrived within a couple of minutes in the cosy, dimly lighted and creative ambiance.

Garlic bread - crispy crunchy crust and garlicky, an appreciated start when you are hungry. Beer for me is beer or perhaps, premiums beer should taste better.

Up next the "Baked Potato" and "Baked Oysters". Baked potato - loveable because potatoes cooked any way, we surely will love. This one baked to the right texture, drenched with sour cream and a little sprinkling of spring onion. Baked oysters - no regrets in ordering. Baked with herbs and a little sauce, definitely liken with a squeeze of lemon juice and a dash of Tabasco sauce.

The lamb shank we waited for at least 15 minutes. Almost patience testing until we called twice to check. Tender and easily ripped from the bone, the meat was tender, tasty the sauce soaked with potatoes and onion and the over-cooked and unappealing vegetables we didn't mind. Every bit of this dish we polished off and happily grinned at each other.
RM91.45 didn't bite into our budget. Indeed, we left as satisfied customers. Logenhaus did live up to our expectations but if you coming over during the peak dinner hours, bring some cotton to stuff up your ears unless of course you don't mind noisy children and loud customers.
