Amy Winehouse: I Dress Like I'm An Old Jewish Black Man

Harper's Bazaar caught up with Amy Winehouse, who is just finishing a clothing collection for British brand Fred Perry. She said she's been enjoying the project "ve'y much so," explaining, "It was not hard at all, not hard at all, because, like...I knew exactly what I wanted. And I love Fred Perry so much. I was honoured that they would even, like, 'Do you want to come and do a line?' Me? Like, me?"

Winehouse remarked that she doesn't consider herself a style icon, claiming, "I just dress like...I'm an old black man. Sorry! Like I'm an old Jewish black man. I just dress like it's still the '50s." She added that she's not very good at photo shoots, "'Cause I'm a musician, I'm not really good at posing and being a model, like, modeling."

She also told Harper's Bazaar she's inspired by Elizabeth Taylor, but doesn't want to look like her -- "She had purple eyes. That's weird."

Harper's Bazaar :Amy, are you happy?

Amy Winehouse: She squints suspiciously at me. "About what?"

Harper's Bazaar :About life.

Amy Winehouse: "I'm happy about this salad."
Harper's Bazaar : Do you wake up and feel happy?

Amy Winehouse:  "I don't know what you mean." A pause. "I've got a ve'y nice boyfriend. He's ve'y good to me."
Harper's Bazaar : Are you in love?

Amy Winehouse: "I hardly know ... yet. We've only been together three and a half months."

The time scale invoked would suggest she's talking about Reg Traviss.
Harper's Bazaar : And do you have any unfulfilled ambitions?

Amy Winehouse: "Nope!" she says. "If I died tomorrow, I would be a happy girl."
